so many brilliant, beautiful lines in this powerful piece.

>Marty blinked. Hutch felt a shift in his stomach, a certainty rattled.

my stomach did, too.

>“Are you?” he said instead, waiting for an answer, a real answer, like a real person instead of a two-bit disco hustler. Giving Hutch a chance, too, to be a real person rather than a gun and a badge."

oh man. such terrific insight into Hutch's mind-set.

>The hand holding Hutch’s wrist slid around, slipping over his palm, fingers twining with his, intimate and startling enough to make Hutch shiver. A broad hand pressed his back and he was against Marty’s limber body, his cheek to the kid’s, his nose in the dark curly hair. He moved with Marty, awkward, stiff, half aroused, half horrified, painfully aware of the lean belly rubbing hot against his, of the warm breath on his face, the strong hands taking charge of their steps and direction.<

incredibly hot, and wonderful turns of phrase.

>and this was as close as he was going to get, and that was all he wanted to know.god, poor ( ... )

Thanks so much! I'm delighted to hear this worked for you. I felt so sorry for Hutch and Marty while writing it (even though I also found it kinda sexy). I'm glad to hear that that emotion came through. I don't even like "cheating" fic, but you know how plot bunnies are; they don't care what you like.
Thanks again for reading and commenting. :)

I felt sorry for them both, as well. so sad.

re: "cheating" fic, it ain't, in my mind, because when Starsky comes over...well, I have a nice bedtime scenario alllll imagined out. just have to finish all this ice cream, first.

Yeah, in my head things get all properly worked out (after the requisite angst and shouting, of course) because it's just too awful to think of any other ending after this. :)

Hey, this is that dark gritty angsty piece that I keep wanting to write.

It's a real head trip, well done. So sad....Hutch suffers so beautifully, whether it's emotionally or physically.

I don't usually do this kind of thing either, so I can say from experience that when it hits you, you'll write it too. :)

Thanks! I think Marty's suffering as much as Hutch (so I think Adrian Zmed's cute, so sue me!), but yeah, they're both in dire need of a cuddle. Don't know where Marty's gonna get his, but we know where Hutch's gonna get his cuddle. :)

I dunno. Marty'd be kind of cute with Huggy. Huggy never gets much good smexing. *G*

I have written some quite hard hitting drama in other fandoms, believe it or not. I've actually hurted and comforted with gunshot wounds and crying in showers and sad angsty make up sex and written PTSD and all that shit.
It just hasn't hit me in this one yet.
Damn muses, always wanting to flirt, joke and use me for cheap thrills. *G*

Oh. Then you don't at all have my handicap of ordinarily doing fairly light things. :) I've only written in three fandoms, and I tend toward the lower-angst end of the spectrum. Not fluff, though (she said sternly)! But I know what you're saying about the tone being different in different fandoms -- that's part of the fun of it.

This was amazing and hot and sad and so spot on perfect, I'm not sure what to say. I am impressed and jealous that I didn't write it.

You managed to make Marty real. And me feel sorry for him and Hutch both. There were some great lines here. Oh, and did I say how hot this was?

God, I love an angsty Hutch.

Fantastic job,
Susan

oh, it hurts so good. I can't even pick a favorite line, because there are so many that had me going, damn, wish I'd thought of that. really fantastic job.

Thank you. This story, for some reason, made me like poor Marty. Poor kid, all hurt, no comfort (unlike Hutch, who's got some comfort coming to him *g*).

Thanks again! Now this one's off my back, back to work on the other one(s). :)
