I love David Levithan! If you want an awesome LGBT book, go read The God Eaters by Jesse Hajicek(sp?). You can read the whole thing online for free, just google the book title. It is my all time favorite book, I bought a copy when it was put in print, and I reccomend it to everyone who's interested!

I WILL! Whenever I find the free time (when it's not so dangerously close to bedtime) I will have to check that out. Thank you! :D

David Levithan is so amazing. I fell in love with him when I listened to the writers commentary on the Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist dvd. And gah.. that cover is so beautiful.

Also because you asked about the weekend and because I have to gush but it still feels too soon to say it out loud... something happened this weekend. A bit of backstory... when I was in seventh grade I was friends with this amazing girl. To be honest I had a bit of a crush. At end of the year she moved away and I didn't heard from her in eight years. Anyway last week she finds me on facebook and invites me to her birthday celebration ( ... )

Can I just say how phenomenal your weekend sounded? The way you recounted it was like a dream, and I can't tell you how awesome your possibility sounds. Now I want to hold someone's hand in a deep and meaningful silence. (Sorta like how I desperately wanted to ask my friend to lay down and cuddle with me for a few before she left for the night, just this past Saturday.)

I really want more David Levithan! He's got a style that I can easily dive headfirst into. He's got talent, that's for sure.

I've never read a LGBT book. But I want to. And I'm going to the bookstore Tuesday (it's a little over an hour and a half away so we don't go there much) and I might pick a few up. If I can find any.

And yes. Death Cab. Love them. My favorite is I Will Possess Your Heart. The whole 8 minute one. I also like Crooked Teeth, What Sarah Said, I Will Follow You Into the Dark. Yeah...

My weekend was work at seven, home at one and then lounge around the house recuperating from getting a tooth pulled. Nothing too exciting.

I highly, highly recommend Boy Meets Boy! If you're looking for a well-written love story, I'd check that one out. ♥ Best of luck finding something in your clearly deprived bookstore! xD

I Will Follow You into the Dark = the shit. ♥ That and Passenger Seat are my favorite Death Cab songs so far. I didn't really dive into my friend's rec list of their songs because I wanted to chillax with her and listen to 'em together. It makes me sound like such a sappy weenie-cheeseball, but that's my idea of "Fun". x3

Eugh, teeth. No thank you. D: And I have to visit the dentist soon... blech.

Well, that bookstore that we're going to is a Barnes N' Noble. It's just far away. But I'm not sure if they'd have it in the store. I kinda hope so. If not I'll just order online.

Gah, I adore I Will Follow You into the Dark. I have *goes and checks* oh, only three versions of that song. I thought I had more. Oh well.

Yeah, dentist trips aren't fun. At least my mouth isn't in pain anymore.

Well, the bookstore did have Boy Meets Boy. Which surprised me some. Then again, I wasn't sure if I should be surprised because that city is supposedly the town with the highest number of residing LGBT in the state.

What's even better is I mentioned wanting to buy Boy Meets Boy to my housemate, she ran upstairs and came down with a book. 'Rainbow Boys'. She said she didn't really remember it but I looked at it, grinned and said "I'm loving the cover." Then I pointed out to her that the guy in the middle, in the 'background' you could say, is Matt Bomer who plays Neal Caffrey in White Collar, Bryce Larkin in Chuck and Luc Johnston in Tru Calling (those are the three show I know him from). So we laughed at that. I looked at the book more and said "There is a sequel! Rainbow High. Oh look, and a Rainbow Road. I bet that's the third book." At the bookstore I did see Rainbow Boys, but none of the others.

But yeah, I'm gonna start reading Boy Meets Boy right now and stop rambling to you.

My day was pretty amazing! I just got back from London, where I went to the British Museum with my best mate, and then went to see Phantom at Her Majesty's Theatre in the West End. It was brilliant! Such a great show; and all the leads were fantastic.

Oh my god, that sounds amazing. I desperately want to see Phantom on Broadway, but tough times mean the only excursions we'll have are eating out. Which, hey, I can't complain about. :P

I'm quite lucky in that I live near enough London that it doesn't cost a huge amount to get there - and we went to the ticket stands at Leicester Square to get the last minute cheap tickets. Being a student, I can't afford a massive trip out either.

It always brightens my day when I see a post of yours on my f-list, bb!

I love that moment when you connect so deeply with a book that it actually moves you--be it to inspire you, to uplift you, to make you feel peaceful or to make you upset. We were talking about the "bibliotherapy" movement in one of my classes, and for all the debate in library academia, I know that the power books have to make someone FEEL is undeniable.

Congrats on rocking a new haircut! I'm tickled that you braved the shorter do. One of my favorites cuts ever was a spiky/messy grown-out pixie-type look. Unfortunately, you're absolutely right that shorter cuts do make you feel more vulnerable; I don't think that I'm at a place in my life where I could feel at home in that cut at the moment. Someday. ;)

(Also -- I loved that college allowed me to go crazy with my hair. For someone who never really experimented with my looks in high school, I felt very comfortable making my hair some very, very interesting colors during college. It was just fun, and I ( ... )

Bibliotherapy? I like it! And I think anything has the potential to move a person. It just takes some sort of connection for epiphanies to be made from something as simple as, say, ink on paper ( ... )
