It always brightens my day when I see a post of yours on my f-list, bb!

I love that moment when you connect so deeply with a book that it actually moves you--be it to inspire you, to uplift you, to make you feel peaceful or to make you upset. We were talking about the "bibliotherapy" movement in one of my classes, and for all the debate in library academia, I know that the power books have to make someone FEEL is undeniable.

Congrats on rocking a new haircut! I'm tickled that you braved the shorter do. One of my favorites cuts ever was a spiky/messy grown-out pixie-type look. Unfortunately, you're absolutely right that shorter cuts do make you feel more vulnerable; I don't think that I'm at a place in my life where I could feel at home in that cut at the moment. Someday. ;)

(Also -- I loved that college allowed me to go crazy with my hair. For someone who never really experimented with my looks in high school, I felt very comfortable making my hair some very, very interesting colors during college. It was just fun, and I figured if there was any time in life to play around with ones appearance without feeling judged, it's college.)

My life's been fairly busy, and I'm just trying to keep focused on my projected graduation date. (I'm not focusing on the fact that my asst. manager is going on maternity leave at that time, and that the library is entering the summer reading program busy season, and much of the work will be added to my stack. Or that while she's gone, my manager scheduled a THREE WEEK vacation.... which means, I'm in charge, cool, but I'll be doing three people's jobs. Nope. Ignoring that for now.) I snuggle snorty dog and hug my nieces and call my friends when I'm feeling stressed, and occasionally, I say "to hell with it" and write way, way too long responses to my pals on the interwebs when they brighten my day with their awesomeness. :D Take care, my dear; I'm signing off before I exceed my word limit!

Bibliotherapy? I like it! And I think anything has the potential to move a person. It just takes some sort of connection for epiphanies to be made from something as simple as, say, ink on paper.

It's exposing, this haircut, but I've always felt more "in my element" when I had shorter hair. My friends weren't the biggest fans, but whatevs. This time, one of said friends cut my hair so she is in no position to give me grief over it. :P

Oooh! What color spectrum has your hair been in your lifetime? In middle school (during a rebellious phase that my recently split parents reluctantly supported) I had red tips, red streaks, purple highlights and... I know there was more. OH! I had blond tips AND streaks. At the same time. :P

I offer you a portion of my already-diminished sanity to make it through to your graduation date, and I wish you the best of luck! If I were the type, I'd pray for you too. As it is, my thoughts and hopes and strength is with you. Also: AWW, I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE. STOP BEING SO SWEET, DARLIN', AFORE I FALL INTO A SUGAR COMA. ♥♥♥
