♥ Dream a Little Dream of Me I'm also a mamma's girl.
I'm just gonna do six songs that really mean a lot to me.
1. Mellencamp songs. My mom and I love him, my sister never did but claimed his music gave her a headache (except, y'know, that one song... she really likes that one). And still to this day we both bond over his music in that mom, my sister and I were driving and a Mellencamp song came on, mom and I both started rocking out (singing loudly, dancing) and then when that song was over, we skipped songs till the next Mellencamp song came on. My sister just laughed at us. "Oh yeah life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone."2. Danse Russe by Hurt. My cousin almost died. More than once. She's got these two diseases and the medicine for one makes the other worse and there are about three other people in the world who have the two same diseases. She had six major surgeries by the time she was eighteen. She got into this band Hurt and I have to say I got into them because of her. This song is one that we played a lot

I feel the need to add that Roll Um Easy by Little Feat always calms me down. It's so beautiful. But you need to listen to the version I have on my CD. Which I can't find on youtube. Sadface. "And I have dined in palaces, drunk wine with Kings and Queens, but darlin', oh darlin', you're the best thing I've ever seen."
Alice's Restaurant is a Thanksgiving tradition. Radio plays it every year and a few years ago I downloaded it therefore I don't have to wait to listen to it and hope I catch it. "We walked in, sat down, Obie came in with the twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one, sat down. Man came in said, "All rise." We all stood up, and Obie stood up with the twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy pictures, and the judge walked in sat down with a seeing eye dog, and he sat down, we sat down. Obie looked at the seeing eye dog, and then at the twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy pictures with circles and arrowsand a

I adored reading your little anecdotes. Some were cute and some were touching/sad as well. I especially loved the bit about you, your mother and your sister in the car with Mellencamp. (:
I'm glad music helped you get through a storm. Even if I'm one of those who love thunderstorms (I blame my mother--she's got this strange fixation with lightning bolts) I can understand the fear. It's a rational fear, at least.
I caught "My Best Friend" before any of your other songs, so I decided to check it out. What a sweet, awesome song! :`D And your story that went along with it was equally sweet. I'm totes going to hold onto that one, haha.
I loved all of the stories you attached with specific songs, especially the one about London. I can only imagine how amazing it felt to be in London, to feel like you were where you belonged, only to leave. (Did you go on vacation, or was it more like a brief time living there for business/etc.?)
I think I'm going to have to check out that Sara song next. I love her, but--like many other artists I love--I never take the time to look past the well-known songs to check out other songs I might love just as much, if not more. But yeah, the lyrics-blurb you left with that song... I have to check it out!
And THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH FOR REMINDING ME ABOUT THAT COLDPLAY SONG. I ABSOLUTELY ADORED IT BUT TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT IT. ♥♥
It's one of my favourite songs ever by Weezer. It's so beautiful, so sensitive, I love the "feel of it". I'm glad you enjoyed your listening ! :D
Thank you ! I couldn't go on in my life without my Ipod by my side. It's always, always with me, and music follows me through my day. I wake up with one song in my head, and I go to bed with another. :) About London -I went there with my school. We stayed something like a week, and we lived this whole week in a host family. I was with a good friend of mine, and the family we were put in was absolutely marvellous. The parents were wonderful and lovely, and their daughter, omg, she is a Sciences Teacher, and still lives with them. One evening, after taking my shower, I was passing in the corridor and then I heard the song "Jump" being sung on TV ... no doubt, that was Glee XD it made me laugh so freaking much. Anyway, I really adore this city, and I plan on doing some of my studies out there !
You should totally check out Sara's previous album, Little Voice. Her new one, Kaleidoscope Heart,

Haha, you're welcome! (: Glad I could make you think (and lurking's fine--I approve!).
I loved number one; it was so warm and fuzzy in that wholesome-family sort of way. AWWW--don't make me feel so fluffy and touched I might cry. Your brother is adorkable. ♥♥
OH MY GOD, HEY JULIET!!!!! I remembered it from eons ago, and when my friend showed it to me we spazzed out when we realized "HOLY SHIT, is that Kevin McHale?!" Just... I THINK YOU'RE FINE, YOU REALLY BLOW MY--! sorry. xD
I... do I even have to say how touching all of these stories were? They were so personal and heartfelt, and I feel honored that you were willing to show them to me. ♥ (And yes, I do love Ellie Goulding's version of Your Song. And WHY YOU SO SWEET? That's one of the sweetest things I've ever heard someone do.)
I hope you act like a creepy lurker more often! I enjoyed reading this a lot. (: ♥

:D Your comments to my comments just kinda put a smile on my face!
When you freaked out and said Kevin McHale with the whole Hey Juliet thing, I had to Google it, and it turns out Matthew Morrison was in LMNT? SMALL WORLD haha.
And I'm glad you enjoyed reading my random trip down memory lane. I enjoyed reading your list as well :)
1) Joe Cocker's version of Let It Be. Back in Year 9 I was having a bit of a troubling time (my own fault entirely) and this song really helped me through.
2) Wicked's For Good. The first time I heard it was live in the West End with a friend of mine for whom, at the time, the song was very true indeed. I suppose it is still true now, but it's no longer a friendship I look back on happily given how it ended.
3) Absolution from Bare: A Pop Opera. The raw emotion in Matt Doyle's voice in this version is absolutely heart-wrenching. And the message of it is just... it makes me cry every time.
4) I tried to pick just one of all the songs from Billy Elliot, but I can't. They all tell of the suffering of a community, the love these people have for their homes and one another. the most touching parts though, I think, are when Billy's Dad is singing of his wife and her love for their home, and Billy takes over when his father's voice breaks, with the lines:
I loved listening to that version of Let It Be. Very gritty, rough and touching.
And the story behind Not While I'm Around had to have been one of the sweetest things I've heard. Your relationship with your parents--how you're closer to your mom but your dad doesn't love you guys any less, he just doesn't know how to express affections naturally--it was realistic and something I could semi-relate to.
I needed the sweetness of your comment after such a long, so-so day. Thank you. ♥♥
For a long time I thought it was the original version of the song (my Dad is very much not a Beatles fan) - I was really surprised when I found out that it wasn't.
And you're welcome, honey! Thank you for having such great journal entries!
I loved that image. I knew that quote from the 30 Seconds to Mars video, and it's actually what I feel all the time. And, then there are Green Day, My Chemical Romance and 30 Secs' records all around *_* quite perfect!!!
1. "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)" by Green Day. There's just something about this song that really speaks to me. It has that right amount of sadness into it, that makes you feel like the song is talking about something real, and it has that feeling of helplessness you feel when things don't turn out in the right way and maybe you don't get what you wanted, but it's still worthwhile. It's something unpredictable but in the end is right I hope you had the time of your life.
2. "Disenchanted" by My Chemical Romance. This another quite depressing song but when I listen to it, I feel understood and comforted. I spent my high school career spit on and shoved to agree. If I'm so wrong. How can you listen all night long? Now will it matter long after I'm gone? Because you never learn a goddamned thing.3. "Famous Last
