This book actually has a coherent plot. There are some o.O things about it, but nothing as totally random as, say, the one with the cyborg princess. Male lead kidnaps female lead to make her sing the song to get the amulet to give to the bad guys so they give back his dad. That's entirely intelligible.

arggh! i'm not fond at all about situations in a story wherein i need to turn off my brain to make it fit the storyline as presented, especially in a story where there is other meat to chew on. sigh... btw, nice to hear you peep online here again :) (i assume you have other voices elsewhere)

How about this: The lock only opens for the sound of a completely fresh performance. It can tell if someone's practiced, and hates that.

Very curious about your biggest problem with the book now.

Twenty pages later she finally gets to practice. But it's treated as no big deal.

The heroine treats everyone with compassion except the hero. Disney princess syndrome.
