I bought this book when I was depressed, looking for a light, straightforward contemp romance novel to cheer me up. I'd just read Shelli Stevens' Negligee Behavior and liked it, and similar people recommended this one. But but wait - what's good about this book then? Just that it's cleverly written? Because it sounds icky.

The writing is smooth and professional, which sadly you can't really count on. The pacing is solid, the plot has no major holes. The writer obviously knows what she's doing. There's a secondary romance between the heroine's mother and a childhood friend that's kind of cute. It's not pure ick. Just enough to wreck it for me.
