I think this post makes a really good point linkIt is discussing what probably will not work and what might. At first, it seemed like explaining the issue might work. That's been done. So, I have read a fair bit about how more urban areas tend to pay more in taxes than they get back in taxes and rural areas tend to be the reverse. Urban areas tend to need to support rural areas. Now, I don't think rural areas should be forced to cope with all of their expenses on their own, and I think cutting them off from the rest of the world ( Read more... )

New Hampshire now denying antibiotics to poor women with urinary tract infections, because hey, they can. Article. And yes, that was the blindingly obvious consequence of the law. When you defund health care for poor women, you are defunding health care for poor women. What did people expect would happen?

So, I've been doing a little research, since I found out I bought products from a company that in 2009 (the time of the article I read) had an employee who was making an average wage of 11 cents an hour, legally, in the US. This is disturbing.
