Lay It Down Slow

So! Finally finished up Prison Break, at long last. There were good moments, awesome moments, some really uneven moments and moments that felt like the writers were shitting their pants in protest of their cancellation. (Any word on the backstage politics of *those* decisions?) Overall, I ended the series with a wistful little tear in my eye, ( Read more... )

Wow! I've read over this a bit...now, I'm going to have to go read over it again. :)

I love how you write these epic posts! And I love your love for Dominic Purcells!

Your thoughts on Kellerman are very good and how I felt knowing he had become the "hero." I'm all about redemption stories but I felt that one was never fully explained. But I'm going on the fact that I watched this how many years ago as well...so I might just be forgetting some parts.

Oh, and about Sucre: I mean when I say he’d been carrying everyone, is he really made *all* of them a family.

You're right. I never really thought about it before, but you are so right!

I know. I go a little crazy with my opinions. :)

How much of the show did you watch? Did you just skip season 3 and tune back in in season 4 when you knew Sara was still alive?

Yup, that's pretty much what I did. LOL. I also got a little tired(?) I guess of the plotline in season 2. Maybe it was just me but it got a little bit confusing. But that's just me, I guess.

And, don't stop writing epic length posts. They are great to read. ;)

No, the whole show is confusing. Seriously. With the back and forth, and everyone and their mother double-crossing each other, you always forgot where you were with the story.

But I find it's a lot easier to follow shows when you're mainlining them, rather than watching one week to the next (and certainly over long hiatuses).

I'm with you on a lot here... and not on a bit, too, but we can agree to disagree, can't we ( ... )

Thanks for coming to chat!

Of course we agree to disagree, makes the world go round :)

Season 1 is *fabulous*. Really, really great and the show lasted as long as it did because of it. *But*...it was a totally different show afterwards. Almost doesn't even fit in with the rest of it. And I guess I call season 3 my favorite, because...well, if I ever make it to a season 3 or 4 or 5, I will always enjoy those later seasons more because I will be that more attached to the characters at that point.

I also heard that the show was only ever meant to be two seasons- and I think it's pretty clear in the way he [Paul Scheuring] unraveled everything in, like, the last five minutes of Sona. And then, seasons 3 and 4 seemed like it was going on as planned- until the Christina Scofield arc. Is that when they got their cancellation? Do you know anything about the backstage politics of all that ( ... )

Very interesting...I will admit while I agree with you on some things and feel the complete opposite for others. I do agree that the Mother/family story line was so wrong on so many levels and I've basically just blocked it out. Also on the age thing...LOL!! You are too funny. Also I love love love the PA and SWC scenes. He is adorable and I totally shipped them just a little. I will have to dig deep for some fanfiction, but I remember one where it was more of a pull between Paul and Michael and it was really good ( ... )

Oh, a Kellerman/Sara icon! So wrong...so delish!

LOL, I've done a bit of checking around, and it seems I am quite alone in my love for Lincoln/Sofia. It goes to show- I hardly *ever* love canon couples and when I do, they always seem to be the most hated. I guess I'll just have to write my own fic :)

I know who Jane is! Someone on my f-list has loved her for years, so I knew exactly who she was when she popped up.

Season 3 was good, but the HIAB just ruined it for me.

Sorry...unfamiliar with HIAB? What does that mean?

I think I just love s3 so much, because when I find a ship to love and ship like crazy, it just kind of takes everything over for me. And if I had been watching live, it probably would have been infuriating. But it *is* a really tight arc over 13 episodes. Knowing I could rest easy about Lincoln and Sara and Sucre and LJ and the rest just let me enjoy it.

But S1 is obviously what put the show on the map.

Lol...HIAB is..."head in a box"...as in Sara's head. :)

Ok so this isn't a Kellerman/Sara fanfic, but I loved the relationship between Michael, Sara and Kellerman. :) (http://prisonbreakfic.net/viewstory.php?sid=2064) I'll try to find more. :)

Lol...I'm the exact same way about my Ships. I obsess. :)

And another winning icon...oh, Sucre just made everything better :)

Head In A Box! LOL, does it happen often enough to have an acronym? LOL.

Thanks for the rec!

Man, you have taken me back. S1 is my fave and will always be my fave because despite it's flaws, it made sense. Everything seemed to work from the look, the acting, the writing, etc... S2 it started going down hill because the people in charge got greedy, lazy and just didn't give a fuck after while. I can deal with S3 (even if the show should've ended after S2 b/c omg how is T-bag is still alive and kicking?) but there is no excuse for the clusterfuck what was S4 ( ... )

S1 was *so* tight, because it was obviously the only season that was planned out in advance, and it really shows. And I'll even give writers credit for caring...until the friggin Christina arc.

What were the writers' explanations? Even just the gist of it, if you don't know of the direct quote.

I can see that I am alone in my Sofia love (as usual, heh), and even I have a problem with introducing a love interest for Lincoln about three weeks (in show time) after he lost the love of his life. But the love I have for Dominic Purcell, I just wanted a happy ending for him *so* bad, and with the show already over, and already having seen the finale montage, I knew Sofia was going to be it, so I think I went in wanting to love her and just found the things in her that are likable.

How are you feeling honey?

If I read anything, I can't remember.

That's not why I didn't like her. I couldn't not like her for that reason anyway since I was ready to marry him off to Jane since I love that character even though we knew her for like 5 minutes. I wanted Linc to have a happy ending, too. Sofia just didn't do it for me.

I'm feeling pretty good. Tired and I can feel my stomach stretching. So weird.

Yes, I *knew* someone on my f-list shipped Lincoln/Jane hardcore, so I knew exactly who she was when she popped up!
