Lay It Down Slow

So! Finally finished up Prison Break, at long last. There were good moments, awesome moments, some really uneven moments and moments that felt like the writers were shitting their pants in protest of their cancellation. (Any word on the backstage politics of *those* decisions?) Overall, I ended the series with a wistful little tear in my eye, ( Read more... )

Man, you have taken me back. S1 is my fave and will always be my fave because despite it's flaws, it made sense. Everything seemed to work from the look, the acting, the writing, etc... S2 it started going down hill because the people in charge got greedy, lazy and just didn't give a fuck after while. I can deal with S3 (even if the show should've ended after S2 b/c omg how is T-bag is still alive and kicking?) but there is no excuse for the clusterfuck what was S4.

Basically everything you said about Christina not being who everyone (the boys and us) thought she was. The writers explanations were straight up BS. I can't believe the writers expected us to buy what they were selling. And then Michael and Lincoln are not brothers? Just destroy the premise of the show why don't you? Unforgiveable what they did in S4.

Plus, I think the writers were making up the conspiracy as they went along so it didn't really make sense. Or they just suck at writing that kind of stuff. I remember thinking after S4 ended, so all these lives were ruined because of that? WTF?

Agree on timeline, Westmoreland's daughter and the awesomeness that was Kellerman and his redemption (like what?). What makes you feel neutral on C-Note are the reasons why I can't stand his character. CAN'T. STAND. Ridiculousness from start to finish. So much WORD on Sucre!! And the lack of LJ in S4. Don't care for Maricruz either. (Don't get me started.) Never liked Sofia (can't remember why) so her and Linc kinda pissed me off. Yeah, a lot of Linc's problems were the crap writing for him at times. I'll say that it got so bad to me that I felt like why are they brothers again?

RL got in the way of me finishing S4 in real time. Thank goodness. Then I went and watched it anyway on the web. Bad move. I refuse to watch TFB.

Bottom line IMO, PB should've been a miniseries so basically S1. I think it would've had the same impact.

S1 was *so* tight, because it was obviously the only season that was planned out in advance, and it really shows. And I'll even give writers credit for caring...until the friggin Christina arc.

What were the writers' explanations? Even just the gist of it, if you don't know of the direct quote.

I can see that I am alone in my Sofia love (as usual, heh), and even I have a problem with introducing a love interest for Lincoln about three weeks (in show time) after he lost the love of his life. But the love I have for Dominic Purcell, I just wanted a happy ending for him *so* bad, and with the show already over, and already having seen the finale montage, I knew Sofia was going to be it, so I think I went in wanting to love her and just found the things in her that are likable.

How are you feeling honey?

If I read anything, I can't remember.

That's not why I didn't like her. I couldn't not like her for that reason anyway since I was ready to marry him off to Jane since I love that character even though we knew her for like 5 minutes. I wanted Linc to have a happy ending, too. Sofia just didn't do it for me.

I'm feeling pretty good. Tired and I can feel my stomach stretching. So weird.

Yes, I *knew* someone on my f-list shipped Lincoln/Jane hardcore, so I knew exactly who she was when she popped up!
