*sigh of relief*
Okay, so technically this sigh happened Tuesday night and Wednesday during the day... We are not getting a puppy. ^_^ (Puppies are cute...but they're so troublesome to train and such. >_<)
The e-mail that Mom got turned out to be a bit of a fraud. Not from her friend, or her friend's coworker, but from his niece, who was the one who found the puppies (or maybe it was a friend of the niece...doesn't really matter). Mom and I decided Tuesday night that we shouldn't get a puppy, but Mom told her friends at work about it on Wednesday, and one of them decided to call about a puppy, only to be told that the puppies were dealt with back in September. And I guess later during the day the friend that told Mom about it in the first place e-mailed her to tell her that the guy from school who had sent it out (Mom's friend works in an elementary school, and the guy who sent the e-mail out is a teacher) had sent out another e-mail apologizing for everything. He had no clue that it wasn't real, and apparently multiple people had called about the puppies already. >_<
But, we are considering getting another dog from the Humane Society. ^_^; Not a puppy (though they have the cutest 7 week old lab mix puppy there right now), but an adult or young adult dog, preferably with enough energy to keep Zora company sometimes. ^_^ At least, last time I heard from Mom (last night), we were considering it, and I think we might be taking a trip out there to visit the dogs in the near future.
In NaNo news... I've repurposed my little used third lj account lemming_kun to be a daily writing update/all-purpose NaNo journal. ^_^;; So most of the excited NaNo-ing will be going on over there. ^_^ Meanwhile, I continue to come up with new ways (well, new to me) to organize myself for NaNo which will most likely fall through within the first week of November, if not sooner. I'm planning on trying some positive reinforcement with regards to daily goals via stickers on a calendar this year, and my plot/character/world mini-wiki is coming along pretty well (though it still needs lots of work!!!).
And in one little bit of fangirling... yesterday I read a (raw) manga I downloaded from aarinfantasy called BISEXUAL, by Masaki Souko (after googling her I found out that she's also the mangaka of Boys Este, the manga that inspired a jdrama that I was watching and will finish once I catch up on some other series). It's a shoujo manga, technically, but it's shounen ai (and comedy-ish) and is about a first year junior high school student (Shikishima Shichiri) who is chasing after a kendo rival two years older than him (Meitou Kitsuma) whose father is a friend of his father. When he starts junior high school, he finds out that Kitsuma is infamous in the school for being openly bisexual (and rather loose)... and that Kitsuma has stopped participating in the kendo club, to his great disappointment. He's kinda creeped out when Kitsuma decides to go after him (and eventually get him in bed ^_^;;), and things develop from there.
Sex happens in the story, but it's not really shown. And the art style is...unique. It's a shojo style, but over half (probably more than that ^_^;;) of the manga is done in sd chibi form. ^_^;; Considering the comedy tone to the story, the chibis fit in pretty well, and I think it gives a rather interesting feel to the story. ^_^ But yeah, I really liked it...and I wish I could get my hands on a physical copy. (I could if I wanted to sign up for an account with bk1, though.)
