We moved to Minneapolis! We found a 3 BR apartment for nearly twice what we were paying for a duplex in rent - and it's CHEAP up here. Egad, I don't know that I'll ever get accustomed to the price difference in housing

Sorry you are having a rough start up there. I know how stressful moving can be, especially in a new place where you don't know many people. I bet it will get better. Take Skig to the park, and try and pick up someone there...that is what I do, and it is usually pretty successful. Also once he starts school, I bet you will meet all the other moms and then have so much to do, you will have to turn stuff down.

Glad to hear your move went pretty well! But sorry to hear about the price on the housing! Yeah, we just came back from CA and it made me really glad I live here in TX...the housing prices out there are insane! We'd be in a 1 room shack! lol

And no, I don't think a friendship where you have to do all the work is a real friendship. An acquaintanceship, maybe, but it doesn't take but a few minutes to pick up the phone or jot an email. I've had a few friendships like that, actually. :( But on the other hand, perhaps they're just going through a tough/stressful time in their lives? I hope you're able to build some relationships up there. Perhaps try to get into a playgroup? I met one of my (now) closest friends in a meetup.com playgroup when I moved here!
