I've been learning Icelandic for a little while now just out of interest, and I'm starting back as a post grad at uni in a couple of weeks. I've just discovered I can study Old Norse for credit on the course I'm doing, which I'd really like to do - in part for itself, and in part to help me keep up with my Icelandic, since otherwise I'm not going ( Read more... )

According to the Uni all IS-EN dictionaries besides the starred one are out of date or unsuitable for students.

Would anyone be interested in a "Speak Icelandic" Skype session? I was thinking we could schedule one and any interested people could sign on at the same time and we could all speak Icelandic (as much as possible), and help each other out with pronunciations, vocabulary, conversation skills, etc. If you're interested, comment with a day and time ( ( Read more... )

I'll remind you that this comm still exists, and so does this one, and the Daily Icelandic blog still exists.

The second magazine issue might be out within a week.
