My family always opted for the candied yams, which sufficiently turned me off of the orange beauties until I was old enough to learn you can actually do delicious things with sweet potatoes. Then there's jellied cranberries and green bean casserole (with the fried onions of course). Why do people invent all the weird shit for Thanksgiving?

Really? I don't remember that at all. In fact, I only heard of this yesterday because I was flipping through the magazines at work and some star or other had a recipe for it. (Like they eat. Please.)
