NYC taxi driver stabbed after being asked if he was Muslim.

I just...don't even know what to say.

Scratch that, I do.  This is why the American Christian Right doesn't know anything about real persecution and discrimination anymore.  They can go about their daily lives without having to worry about this, or wonder whether their church is going toRead more... )

What Jesus Believed? anonymous August 29 2010, 00:14:13 UTC
Jesus said the following:

"I am the way, The truth and the Life, No one can come to the Father except by Me."

"I am the bread of life, he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst."

"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day"

"Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you no but rather division, For from now on five members in one household will be divided three against two and two against three. They will be divided father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother"

Right. He also totally kicked that Samaritan woman's ass, and would never ask us to forgive one another as he supposedly forgave us.

I find it rather funny that you post this right after reminding me about Jesus and the golden rule. I guess Do Unto Others only applies to other Christians, everyone else is subhuman? Glad to know I'm not deserving of common human decency. :D

All I did was quote from scripture what Jesus said. Jesus told the story of the good samaritan to serve as an example of how we should live and look at others. No matter what their race, religous or political, social status they should be seen as no less than His children. I did not in any way advocate christians are a super human race and it is sad that you think that about me. The only difference between a christian and anyone else is the grace (undeserved favor) of God's forgiveness in Christ. Christains (self included) make mistakes and can be very screwed up just like any other human ( ... )

You do realize that just as many 9/11 families have come out in support of the community center, right? And that Muslims gave their lives on and after 9/11 to help rescue the victims of the WTC attack right alongside Christians and those of other faiths?

Not to mention the countless Muslim American families who have paid the ultimate price when their sons and daughters went to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight for the right of certain portions of America to slap them in the face by implying that they, by simple virtue of being Muslim and wanting to have a place to serve their community, are somehow hurting America ( ... )

And so the Lord says, "These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote."
- Isaiah 29:13
