Interesting. Like reading about Luke's struggle between Reid and Noah. I do wonder if Luke is truthful in his answer; did he only say that to have something to say to Reid? Regardless, that's a great spot for Luke to fall; myself, I go back and forth over the moments. I think I first saw a spark when Reid ordered Luke out of the appointment; Van had this look on this face like, "Who is this guy? I love his assertiveness."

Dunno. Sorry for the babble. :-) Great story.

I'm not sure when he falls for Reid, but I know he wasn't immediately attracted to Reid. And if he fell for Reid before the elevator, he was a goner in that scene. The soft look on Van's face is just perfect.

Oh. This was perfect. It totally worked.

It's funny, I was just discussing earlier when it was that Luke first started having feelings for Reid. I still can't put my finger on when it was, lol.

Thank you! I think if he hadn't fallen for Reid before the elevator scene, he was absolutely hooked in that scene. It's one of my favorite moments between them.

I agree with you there. By the elevator scene, he was definitely hooked. There was something, at the police station, when Reid shows up to help Holden, but I'm not sure if Luke really falls for him then or just allows for the possibility.

I originally had a line about that moment when Reid walks into the station and Luke grins, but I decided it wasn't quite the right moment so I took it out. I think the elevator scene is the turning point in their relationship.

Something definitely changed between them after the elevator situation. I think Luke had started to see Reid a LITTLE differently before then, but he looked completely enamored with Reid when he listened to him talk about the brain, it was so sweet. :)

I liked this a lot! Short and sweet. :D

Yeah, the elevator scene (for me) is where their relationship really changes. I'm glad you liked the fic!

This was lovely <3 And though the ending left me feeling a little deflated, I almost like it. There is something sad about this piece. It's beautiful and I love to hear them talk about this, but it's also realistic; things aren't perfect. It's honest and insightful. Absolutely wonderful, bb. <3

To be honest, I hate finishing fics. In a perfect world, I would just write until the idea runs out and then be done. But my high school English classes drilled into me that you have to have a conclusion paragraph, so I force myself to write something at the end of fics.

However, since this is taking point a little bit into the future, I think Luke is and will always be a little torn between Noah and Reid, even though I think now Reid is perfect for him.

Ugh. I hate when they drill those kind of ideas into students. Who needs an ending?! I always 'wrap up' a scene so that, aesthetically speaking, you feel closure. It might leave you hanging and wanting to know more about the story and what is happening, but it doesn't just, idk, stop, lol. But I get what you mean. My mom would applaud your comment xD She hates when book series, TV shows, etc. feel the need to tie everything up in a pretty little bow =P And you definitely didn't do that here! And I love it!

And I agree. I think Luke can eventually get a bit more past it than he is in this piece, later on down the road, but there will always be a part of him that misses Noah. I can relate to that, knowing you're right with who you are with now, but I mean, first loves are powerful things, lol. A part of you, no matter how much you may realize you don't actually want them and you don't work together anymore, will always miss them. You display that perfectly here <3
