That's all right, I'm okay, it ain't nothing but another day

Feb 13, 2006 23:49

Oh, today's been a day, all right.  Let me just start this by saying that winter is not my season for cars.  January 2004, my car's battery dies on a particularly nasty day, resulting in me having to walk about a mile in wind and snow, and catching a truly horrific cold.  January 2005, I got in a car accident.  And then there was today ( Read more... )

Wow, that's rough about the car. Glad you pulled through it okay! *hugs* :)

Thanks - the thing that upset me the most was freezing to death waiting for the tow truck. Fortunately my parents rock.

Guess we end up similar in this case as well, hon. All last week my car was out (resulting in walking to work a couple of days) because the fuel pump was out, 'cept my problem was different: If I could actually GET the car to START, it RAN just fine, I just had a beautiful time getting it to START.

If you could please, let me know how much of that amount is parts and how much is labor, as well as how long it took them, cuz I wanna compare it with mine....cuz I paid about half that. :/

Fuel Pump: $490
Labour: $90
Fuel Filter: $45
Tax: $46.81

Total: $671.81

Fuel Pump: $135
Strainer: $20ish
Fuel Pump Valve: $20ish
Labor: $150 (for three hours)

I ended up paying a total of almost $400 for mine. I didn't have to pay for a new fuel filter as I had already had that replaced when I had a tuneup just a month or two ago.

I'm sorry you had to go through that too, hon, but look on the bright side: It won't happen again for a very very long time!

Hmm....How much you want to bet me the jump in price is because I have boobs and not balls?

Damn. And people wonder why I don't drive. *hug*

The games sound like they rock. *grins*

They do in fact rock. :) Give me the chance and I'll ramble about the game and my character to no end.

*hugs* Thanks...And thank you for the card, it made me laugh.

Yeah the car thing was a little bit rough, but you do what you can. Where I work it would be far more hassle to try and handle public transportation (I would have to take a train south into the city, catch a different train and then ride that NORTH to get to work, reverse to go home which is just way too much hassle.) Besides, cars are convenient for the picking up of groceries, etc.

Go for it. *grins*

*hugs her back* You're welcome. That was the whole point behind it.

*nods* I sometimes miss driving. Usually in the middle of my work commute. *L*

hehehe, easier to explain Joscelaine when I'm not at work because a great deal of her character concept is decidedly NWS - but I would be happy to ramble about any of my RP characters at length. Probably too much length as I talk way too much. *makes a face*

I had my fuel pump go like this too ... it's scary! Glad you're OK.

Yeah, it was very scary - mostly the having to pay for it. I really wish there was an option to finance repairs, or to have an insurance that allows you to do so.

Unfortunately, there is ... it's a credit card.

Oh, you meant an option where you didn't have to pay 20% interest? Yeah, I think that would be great! Credit cards are far too expensive.

That would be great if mine weren't already near the limit. Hence the use of my dad's.

You handled adversity with grace. You rock.

Also, the keepaway game = PRICELESS, OMG.

lassarina February 14 2006, 17:22:03 UTC
Oh it totally was. There was keepaway with the books, and then the game of "keep the renegade deathknight (me) away from the loyal deathknight!" It was completely awesome. Also now I have many many shinies.

herod_the_nut February 14 2006, 21:11:58 UTC
Yeah, now you just have to keep those shinies out of the hands of the 800 year old Lunar sorcerer. Oh, and keeping him from gutting you when/if he finds out what you are.

Enjoy!!

Um, the answer is to give them to Hest and then hide out in his library?

.....*sigh*
