I just--I don't even want something hard, I don't think! I have *never* had a problem with this before. I always call, explain that my scrip is running out, and they ask who my doctor is and confirm the brand i use and then say "sure, that's fine, you can come pick it up on Saturday" and it's fine.
If I didn't already know that most of the office is fine, and if I didn't actually *like* my doctor and need this scrip, I'd be looking for another doctor right now.
I mean this isn't even something *personal* as these things go--it's a fairly standard, unremarkable scrip. If I needed something weirder--something that required more explanations--I don't even know.
I would write a detailed letter to the doctor that you're seeing. Explain politely that you were treated rudely by [name] and that you feel like [name] is not representing Doctor's Office in a professional/polite manner and that it should be addressed. Most doctors hire the staff that works in their offices if you're going to a private office.
I'm just sort of afraid that if I write a letter it'll get opened by the receptionist and vanish into a black ether of nowhere. And that along the way my records will mysteriously vanish.
God, I'm so sorry. What a douchecanoe. You'd think, you'd just think, that a gynecologist's office would have some finesse. It's not like people LIKE the gynecologist's, going there, explaining things, or asking for things. Seriously. So sorry you had to put up with that moron.
I'd definitely tell your doctor next time you see him. "Bedside manner" is more than just the doctor's demeanor, imho.
I'd file a complaint at her boss, the dr. You obviously have an agreement about this with your dr and her the assistant with a not so classy attitude should just follow what you guys have agreed upon. *growl*

I probably won't actually *be* there until January, unfortunately. Sigh.

They have, other than this incident, been very communicative and pleasant and helpful, so...I will not be pursuing another doctor just yet. But. Argh.
