The Lorraine Motel in Memphis has been converted into the National Civil Rights Museum. Room 306, from which Dr. MLK, Jr. was leaving as he was shot, has been restored to its 1968 form. A wreath marks the place on the balcony where Dr. King fell bleeding from a fatal bullet.

Just got back my pics from a trip to Memphis. In addition to Graceland and Beale Street, I stopped by the National Civil Rights Museum, a great place which I really recommend. The Museum is partially housed in the Lorraine Motel, where Dr. MLK, Jr. was shot to death.

Dave uses an adze to hew a log as rafe works the opposite end with an axe. A hewn log is rectangular in shape when finished, thereby reducing weight and providing flat walls (an aesthetic preference.) The hewn logs would be used to make a log house; a log cabin is made from round, unhewn logs.
