The Museum hosted Insectival, an insect festival, at the state's botanical gardens. Mostly it was young kids and their parents and they really seemed to enjoy it. I, on the other hand, was completely creeped out with thousands and thousands of bugs surrounding me on all sides ( Read more... )

I was asked to help make a short informational video for a local non-profit using some equipment they rented for $15; they wanted me to run the camera. I know nothing about video cameras or movie making, but the little Sony was very simple and we all had a lot of fun.

Getting around to scanning my photos from a vacation in Miami. This sunset crept up on us after dinner and kept getting better. I was experimenting with an off-camera fill-flash to give avoid a total silhouette. This, expressly on account of APAD, was the "get closer!" pic of the sunset.

The leafy trees and open spaces of the Memorial Peace Park provide shade for a group of school children gathered around a hibakusha, a survivor of the atomic blast on Aug. 6, 1945. Today the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima, Japan is filled with visitors - school children and adults, Japanese and foreign. In addition to the monuments for the victims of the Aug. 6, 1945 atomic blast, the Peace Memorial Museum is a large draw for visitors to the park.
