Thoughts and prayers tonight for everybody in the Dark Zone in Manhattan and on Staten Island, where conditions are bad and getting worse. Dear Mayor Bloomberg: those 93,600 bottles of water you're distributing to the NYC Marathon runners are desperately needed elsewhere. Now. The lack of common sense and decency here floors me.

They just canceled the marathon, which I think was the right move. Regardless of the resources it may or may not have sucked away from the recovery effort, the marathon runs a block away from some of the worst hit areas on Staten island, which. No. Just no. Those people have enough on their plates right now.

It's getting cold out there, and I'm praying everyone in lower Mahattan and all the affected areas have found shelter somewhere warmer...
