So, I maneuver and bargain for weeks and weeks to get the Thursday before and the Tuesday after Easter off work. Then my grandmother gets ill. Then passes away. It appears that my bountiful holiday of playing WoW and working on Halo-17 are not going to come to pass.

Funeral is probably on Wednesday. Damn.

I'm not dead, you know.

Dilemma:

I wish to see Art of Fighting at The Zoo on Friday night. The band are playing late (11:30 to 12:45), and the last train leaves for Sandgate from Brunswick St at 12:55am.

I don't know why they call it the "late shift" when it's only thirty minutes of extra work (I knock off at 5:30pm instead of 5:00pm), but here I am. Nobody has called for almost an hour. It was my second day of BS "staff training" at work today. I think that, come Monday, they're going to throw me in at the deep end. Oh well, it'll be a couple of weeks of absolute hell (same as at Suncorp) before I wise up to everything, and get good at my job.

On the plus side, I get a big desk, and my own phone.

I know that I normally hate these things, but I think that the idea of being in a gay marriage with my sister, my mother also being the family dog, and having a South African girl as my brother are quite amusing ( Read more... )
