Day 16 - Therapy Room 2

Jun 27, 2006 00:20

He didn't like the way they were being moved around today. It was all too much, too fast, especially with all the new people being announced. It made his wonder what the staffer were trying to keep them all distracted from. Then there was this lockdown thing they claimed was for repairs. He looked around the empty room he'd been escorted into with ( Read more... )

When Martel woke, she found herself strapped securely into a wheelchair. There was a certain numbness to her limbs, and the nurse that had greeted her in her room appeared before her, another syringe poised between her fingers. This one, however, was empty. The nurse smiled at her, tucking the needle away.

"Now, Miss Williams, I've given you a little something to wake you up, all right? I'm going to bring you to the therapy room, where you can meet a few of the other patients, doesn't that sound fun? As long as you promise to behave, we won't have to take you back to your room!" The nurse said brightly, walking behind her and grabbing the wheelchair. Without waiting for any of Martel's replies, she pushed her a short distance down the hall.

The nurse swung the door open and wheeled Martel into the room, which, to her surprise, was mostly empty, aside form the single figure slouched in his chair. She scowled slightly to herself. She did not want to meet the other crazies they kept here. And she certainly did not want to go to any ( ... )

He glanced up when the door opened, watching from under his lashes as the nurse pushed a bound figure in a wheelchair into the room. This was new as well. Usually they would just take away any patients that gave them trouble… but the intercom had said everyone was to be brought here. Interesting. He wasn't sure what sort of trouble she might be yet, so he stayed where he was, but when she spoke he turned in his seat to look at her properly. He smiled politely. "Ashi Kemp and ignore all reports that say otherwise. And might I know your name?"

Martel twisted in an attempt to be look the other patient, "Ashi Kemp", properly. It did not go well, but she managed a rather uncomfortable position, which earned her a much better view of the room. She frowned slightly at the man.

'Reports that say otherwise'? What did he mean by that? Oh, could it be that the nurses also called the other patients ridiculous names? What was it that that woman called her? Miss Williams? Martel scowled inwardly. She did not like it much.

Her attentions shifted back to Ashi and she blinked. "My name is Martel." She replied. She'd long since dropped her last name. After all, she was still marked as Missing In Action in the military documents, and desertion for this long... Well, she'd be spending a hell of a lot of time in jail. Speaking of which, was this Ashi character with the military? Was this entire facility with the military ( ... )

Seeing the way the woman strained he sat up a little straighter, then rose slowly to his feet and walked around to where she could see him properly. "It's nice to meet you, Martel, though I could wish the circumstances were better. And Landels acts like it's a sanitarium, during the day anyway. I've been here around two weeks, I think. They don't give us much help with keeping track." He tipped his head to one side, looking over how she was fastened to the chair.

"Here you go, Mr. Smith. Go ahead and mingle. I assure you, they don't bite." The nurse said as he was ushered into the room. He wondered at her smile and then remembered to smile back.

"It's actually not Mr. Smith," he said helpfully. "...just in case you forgot." The nurse smiled again and left him.

He looked at the other occupants in the room. None looked familiar to him, and they all felt... different. There were touches of chimera, of unrecognized darkness and of an unknown sort of magic. What world was this?

He stood in the corner for a bit, looking at the room, wondering who they were before he mentally smacked himself in the head. Obviously the best way to find out was to ask. After all, Zelas would probably want a detailed report of where he actually was. He spied another loner with white hair.

"Hello," he said as he walked up to him. "I like your hair color." He grinned at him.

"It's a unique color. I've seen few people with that shade before," said Xellos to explain his comment. He took on a polite and interested tone he used when making himself sound harmless.

"My name is Xellos, although the nurse keeps calling me by a different name for some reason. I had thought she just had short term memory, but it appears that officially my name is Gregor Smith over here, which is really quite peculiar. Either that, or it's a case of mistaken identity. You wouldn't happen to be from around here, would you? It's nice to meet someone here..." he trailed off, waiting for the other one to provide his name.

There was something he had to admit about dying, getting trapped in an asylum with hardly any power, and now being dragged around by a nurse he'd come accustomed to referring as "Big Bubba" that made him appreciate Castle Oblivion much more than previously.

At least he knew what time it was.

Speaking of time, the moments before in the cafeteria had been a waste. No information on the circumstances here had been obtained before "Big Bubba" decided that it was getting late and that he needed to be brought back to his room. Axel, though the time with him was limited, was also no help. At least there was a familiar face around, traitor or not - it was better than nothing.

"You know, I'd be rather grateful if you did not hold me by my arm that way. I am quite capable of walking by myself, you obnoxious twat." Of course, the large woman continued to yank his arm in the general direction of a place he really did not want to be, not caring what he was saying in the least. For the most part, her only replies would be "language, Mr. Rould" ( ... )

There were times when Zexion had the sense to keep his mouth shut and go along with things until he better understood what was going on. This happened to be one of those times. Indeed, it would have been foolish to try to forcefully obtain answers, especially after the realization that this was not some juvenile prank. It was all too elaborate.. much, much too complex for some Neophyte to pull off, which had been his first suspicion. Only probably was, the rest of the Organization thought he was dead, thereby scrapping that possibility.

The second notable aspect of this whole situation was the fact that he had lost his 'powers', or they were extremely weakened for some inexplicable reason. He had tried a few already, such as attempting to use an illusion to hide that atrocious happy-faced thing on the front of his shirt. Teleportation had yet to be attempted, and as for his ability to detect identities by scent... well, he wasn't sure how accurate that was. His migraine had only worsened, which created a barrier that could be ( ... )

Oh, this was just wonderful.

Luxord had become quite comfortable in his spot. No one had approached him or even appeared to notice him, and he was rather thankful for it - If there was one thing he hated, maddening, little punks wasting his precious time with their ramblings would have to be it. He would rather be alone for three hours with a deck of cards than hearing someone, Demyx for example, going on and on about how Saïx would not let him dance on the table with his water-clones.

And, of course, fate always decided to bite him in the ass at the most annoying times.

"Well, if it isn't the Estrogen Wonder himself," he crossed his arms, continuing to glower in his chair instead of standing to address the higher-ranking Nobody. "I assumed I'd meet up with you here sooner or later. I must say, that outfit really does nothing for you."

If there was one thing he hated more than talkative imbeciles, it was probably Zexion.

If Luxord didn't want to stand, that was perfectly fine with Zexion. The blonde was quite a bit taller, unfortunately. The Nobody had discovered long ago that it was much more satisfying to tower over (as much as he could possibly 'tower', that is, being only a few measley inches over five feet tall) the person he was rebuking. So it didn't bother him when he saw the man was making no move to rise from his chair ( ... )

"Now, Ms. Ryan, why don't you just sit here nice and quiet, alright?" The nurse maneuvered her into one of the group theralp chair and gave the other patients another of her false smiles and left to fetch her next inmate.

She sat listlessly where she'd been put, the drugs leaving her dazed and legarthic, pupils dialted so heavily that only a thin rim of blue showed around the edges.

Other people, all in gray. All human. How odd.

"Ma pika ma..." she broke off.

"Ma pika ma..." nothing.

"My name is..." the drugs kept her from screaming.

Gone.

By the time they got to the therapy room, the nurse was more than happy to be rid of him. It wasn't that Cliff was trying to piss her off - though the idea became rapidly more tempting by the minute - there were just a few things he needed to know. If she was annoyed with him, it only happened by proxy and not because he'd made a couple more passes at her ( ... )

She turned slowly at the voice, part of her already identying and procesing. Human male, speaking Galatic Basic, unknown accent. He'd walked in front of her briefly before he sat and her mind had categorized him as a heavy-worlder, he'd been raised in a higher gravity than normal.

"I don't know." She answered almost automatically, the drugs making her more pliant than she thought she should have been. "I'm lost."

Her hand rubbed at the side of her head. "My name is gone. I keep looking but I can't find it."

Cliff regarded her, his attention split between the two conversations though it was impossible to tell. This might not be a noisy bar on some recently developed planet, but it was the same old setup. Lay low, get some information, get out and maybe make a couple of friends during the ride. But most importantly, never get attached, never get involved.

Her words were strange though, drugs or no. "You mean you forgot it?" Cliff's eyes darkened for a moment, beginning to suspect that this place was a lot less innocent than the smiley face might have him believe. And he wasn't buying the innocence to begin with. "'They give you another name - a name that's not yours?"

Xellos drifted off for a bit after his talk with Kadaj. It was... enlightening to say the least. Underneath his cheerful facade, his mind worked quickly, processing information that had been given to him, and read in between the lines for information that was not said.

He definately had to find a way to get back to his mistress. Since he could not reach Zelas, he assumed he was beyond her jurisdiction, which was entirely possible if they were in a different world. He leaned against the wall and made note of how everything was so... different. He'd have to get used to that as well.

He saw lots of new faces, but very few familiar ones. That was source of worry for the shaman.

He wondered where everyone was. Especially the pink haired kitty. She was a bit on the hypocondriac side, but she usually was a reliable source of information on what was going around.

He was quite relieved when he spotted the priest. The girl was usually next to him, so there were good chances he might know what had happened after the terrible night. Besides he liked talking to him, even if Spirit of Fire didn't.

"Hello... any idea what happened after last night?"

Xellos looked up when he heard someone speak to him. He smiled quizzically at the young brown haired boy. Perhaps this boy was in his same situation and was naturally sociable. Or perhaps not. For whatever reason, he seemed to know him, although Xellos was pretty sure he had not met him nor felt his aura... actually... auras before. Something about what Kadaj had told him tickled in his brain...

"Hello," he said politely. "No, I really don't know what happened last night. I just go here today, actually."

He paused for a bit. Well, might as well make some more connections if he wanted to know what was up with this place.

"My name is Xellos. And yours? and your spirit's?"
