Day 16 - Therapy Room 2

Jun 27, 2006 00:20

He didn't like the way they were being moved around today. It was all too much, too fast, especially with all the new people being announced. It made his wonder what the staffer were trying to keep them all distracted from. Then there was this lockdown thing they claimed was for repairs. He looked around the empty room he'd been escorted into with ( Read more... )

Chiaki followed her nurse dutifully. She hadn't seen any reason to be 'difficult' and the nurse seemed to respond well to that. Making trouble had never been one of Chiaki's strong points and she abhorred any kind of violence. The pace of life here seemed torn between efficient and sluggish, she couldn't decide which as the nurse led her to the ... Therapy Room 2.

"Ms. Carroll I think you'll enjoy this part of the day. Feel free to socialize and if there are any problems don't hesitate to call!"

Cheerfully the nurse announced what the activity for now was. Chiaki held back a grimace and managed a polite smile and nod at the lady. She seemed so nice, really. That didn't make up for the anxiety that crept up on her. Her last approach to someone had been... unfruitful so maybe it would be better if she just ... stayed where she was standing.

Through his little adventure among even more white walls, the nurse who had come to his room had explained a few things, but not enough for Dante to be particularly convinced. They really were going all out, even going so far as to include "orderlies" or whatever the shit.

The question of how he got here in the first place, however, was unanswered, which was really pissing him off. So he kept asking.

The nurse, instead of answering him, lead him towards a closed room and shoved him in. The first thing he noticed was how... well, crowded it was.

"Group therapy my ass." Looked more like a bunch of dumbasses compiled into one room like fucking cattle.

"So when do we leave?" He had turned to the nurse, but she smiled almost sadly and shut the door in his face.

Well. Bitch.

Give him an hour for this fucking headache to go away, and he was leaving himself. Hell if he's going to be stuck in some crackshit hospital with people trying to convince him he was crazy.

And hell if he was going to "mingle".

Haru had been led into the room a few minutes earlier and had slouched up against one wall, watching the patients being brough in with vague disinterest. There were a lot he didn't recognise now, which bothered him. Damn this entire place. The reaction to the most recent one shuffled in, however, amused him, and he arched an eyebrow and finally pushed off his wall to approach him.

"They have such helpful and pleasant staff around the place, don't they?" he commented dryly as he came near enough to be heard. "You look like one of the newcomers here, I don't think I've seen you before."

Unfortunately, his thoughts were not those of everyone's obviously. Rubbing his temple irritatably, he didn't move from his place by the door nor look at the one talking to him.

"Yeah, no shit," he snapped, dropping his hand. "I take it to be this place ain't a merry fucking walk through the woods."

Haru was completely unfazed by the irritated retort, his lips quirking in amusement. "I wouldn't advise walking through the woods. Rumour has it nasty things live in there. Unless you're used to dealing with squirrels the same size as you. Apparently where some people are from around here, they've got chickens that big. Almost makes you want to question their sanity if everything else around here weren't so fucked up."
