News apparently travels fast in the 3rd world, because I just learned of Vonnegut's passing from a tribute Madeleine wrote in her journal. She credited me with introducing her to Vonnegut, after I raved about hearing him speak my sophomore year at Syracuse. I wrote an 11th grade term paper on God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater. I spoke in Cat's Cradle

I was thinking the same thing this morning. I don't think I've ever read his novels, which I'm ashamed of... But I have heard him speak and read some of his essays, and always admired his honesty.
