This fic is awesome! It makes so much sense, and poor Charlie but really, I think I feel worse for Colby! He took on this burden and it was driving him crazy but he still tried to do the best he could to make sure Charlie was safe. So sweet.
And the confrontation scene with Don? That was pure genius! “Oh god no. That’ll lead to weeks of ‘Do you feel you need to protect your brother?’ ‘Are you homophobic?’ ‘Would you have reacted the same way to a woman?’ I’m not going there.” Hahaha.
I loved this a lot. The interaction between all of them was brilliant!
It very much reminded me of something I read, maybe 20 years ago, about a guy who had one of these weird memory tricks where he could memorise and multiply and whatever, really huge numbers, but eventually he went crazy, believing that they were all piling up on top of each other in his head and that they'd eventially fall over and crush him. If I remember rightly, he was eventually committed, and when he dies, of a heart attack, it was believed that he'd dies of fright because the numbers had finally fallen on him. That really scared me, and I think it was a true story.
:-) Thank you and welcome to the dark warped fun. I'm a feedback ho here so the more I get the faster I write the next part (stalled out at 58,000 words) ;-)
So dark so wrong and yet so damn good! I loved Don's reaction upon finding out and his and Colby's subsequent talk, and the mustard line. You somehow make it all work, the damaged Charlie and caring Colby, not many people could but you pulled it off. So glad I tuned into the chat tonight, otherwise I wouldn't have found this.
Thank you. i'm glad you liked the mustard line. I had a one night thing with a guy who's wife had left him and I swear to god the only thing in his fridge was mustard. enjoy the rest of the stories and feel free to brows through the rest of my work.
