It's been almost two weeks already? Wow.

In your own space, talk about setting yourself a fannish goal. Big or small, it doesn't matter. Some great examples include: complete a bingo, sign-up for a Big Bang, write that fic you've been thinking about for years, podfic that story that you love, make a fanmix for your fandom, post that bit of meta ( Read more... )

Well, it does mean there's a lot of room to improve it. I'm sure you can do it now that it's more or less official pledge!

*likewise cheers you on for yours!*

Definitely going to steal the reading/commenting idea from you, in turn!

...all the BNFs play there, and that's writing I can neither hope to match nor deserve to receive...

What? What is this negative self talk? First of all, you are an awesome writer, and second of all, fandom is supposed to be all about love and fannish joy, not about who's the most "famous" or the "best." You are as good as you believe yourself to be, and you deserve infinitely good things in writing and in life. :D

Feel free to steal! More comments are always a good idea!

♥♥♥ Thanks. And you're right, that's not how fandom is supposed to work - but the thing remains that Yuletide is so huge because it features all those awesome writers, and I guess the negativity doesn't actually register for me because most of the time it feels like it's fact rather than negativity? I saw that you saw Zeen's post with the Orwell quote, and the resignation-survival bit... my brain is wired somewhat similarly, I think. Part of the reason why compliments baffle me so much, they don't mesh with my self-image at all? /issues. *sneaks off to flail*
