Reaearch Update
The last couple of weeks have been very hectic in lab (since Lois left). In 23 days, I was able to go from transforming into a haploid to a Western positive strain. Yep, I finally made my ZZ strain! Took long enough, but I'm happy to finally be able to move past this step ( Read more... ) -

Another 6 day week
Today I'm sporulating a/alpha spo71-myc-trp as well as my WT (again). It seems the last 2 times I sporulated WT they were contaminated. I must be more aware of how I am handling my samples. I have also begun looking at my samples under 40x to detect any bacteria as soon as possible. So far I do not have any rod contamination, but my CB79 (myc ( Read more... )
