My day at work started by holding the door open for the ambulance as they took yet another person out of the building in a stretcher. A strange thing happened to me last night. As I was turning off my computer to go to bed, I got the daylight savings message. Until then, no one had mentioned to me nor had I heard anywhere that yesterday was daylight savings. I completely missed this one. And so it totally took me by surprise late on Sunday night. This kinda freaks me out.

I'm so thrilled it almost feels like spring. The bus for me was almost empty and got me into work in about 10 minutes. Fantastic. One huge stress out of my life. Now I can consider doing crazy things like going on errands all by myself. Autonomy, I have discovered, is one of the great joys of my life.

I got up this morning to find my living room decorated in balloons and streamers. It's going to be a good day.

My kittens, Finn and Gus, demand a lot of attention. Much like dogs, they follow me around the house and beg affection constantly. While this is sweet, I'm a cat person because I don't find that kind of behaviour particularly endearing and often just find it irritating. Okay, well maybe not entirely. But I'm back at work for the second day. I'm still wearing sunglasses at night but soon there will be no glasses at all. I can see it coming. I was watching something silly at the gym the other day, which happens fairly frequently since I can't really control what is on the station in front of the machine I end up with. It's easy to judge people on their geekiness until you come face to face with your own. On my way to lunch today I saw someone wearing a 501st regiment jacket complete with stormtrooper.
