Joss Whedon and the Call of the Geek

It's easy to judge people on their geekiness until you come face to face with your own. On my way to lunch today I saw someone wearing a 501st regiment jacket complete with stormtrooper. And since I don't get it, I was feeling rather smug about my own lack of geekiness. All this of course got thrown out the window with my expidition to http://www.thecomicbookshoppe.com/

I had gone to check out the new Serenity book. I walked out with issues of Buffy and Angel as well. So much have I given into the dark side that is Wheadon that the store will now hold issues of Serenity, Buffy, Angel and Spike for me to buy as they come in. Not even Neil Gaiman (http://journal.neilgaiman.com/)was enough to lure me into the geek world of comic books. But Joss takes me to geek heights that no one else can. Join a fanclub? Yes, I was a browncoat. Buy a comic book? After that, why even pretend to say no.
