Why did I even TRY?

Aug 31, 2008 22:17

So. You will be enlightened to know that I cannot bear drinking coffee. My latest attempt was fruitless.

Learn why, dear friends, and pity me my lack. )

bored, a rilwen is saying strange things again, random, stuff, foods n drinks, rant, annoyances, weird

*grin* I used to drink coffee with lots and lots and lots of milk and sugar. More milk and sugar than coffee, probably. And chocolate, too - mmm mocha. Eventually I managed to work my way up (or down?) to ordinary coffee with sane amounts of milk and sugar.

but I have a housemate who cannot stomach coffee no matter how hard he tries, so you're not alone there. :P

It really is an acquired taste. Much like alcohol, really, and neither is really worth the effort it takes to, er, acquire. :P

You don't like tea? *backs away slowly, making the sign of the holy horns*

Should you ever visit this fair green isle, and in particular the bit I call my own, you will be forced to drink it anyway. Be warned.

I am an unashamed heathen who will not join the Cult of Tea.

Yeah, some flavoured coffee can be false in regard to what is advertised. Hot chocolate is a good alternative. I had to smile at the ancient weakness part. ;)

I didn't know you don't drink Coca-Cola or Pepsi.

I adore hot chocolate.

And yeah...the last time I drank any significant amount of Coca-Cola, I was about eleven, at a party, and it was combined with chocolate and led to a bunch of hyper girls running around a campsite playing 'Spotlight' etc until well after midnight.

If you put enough cream and sugar in it, it tastes like cream and sugar. :p

Mixing hot chocolate with coffee also helps disguise the taste. :p

But that would make the hot chocolate not taste as good. :(

*butts in from metaquotes*
Coffee in chocolate cake makes it taste more chocolatey, if you used the right (v. small) amount it would probably do the same to hot chocolate.

I understand they make caffeinated water. Though I suspect it may be kinda bitter, as caffeine is bitter itself. Really, if you're looking for non-coffee, non-cola, non-tea caffeine, you should check Thinkgeek - they have caffeine mints and even soap (it can be absorbed through your skin!).

I don't eat mints, either. :p

Yeah, I looked at thinkgeek's stuff...and boggled.

You do use soap though, right?

Right?

No, I bathe in the blood of vanquished foes. Everybody's too scared to complain. Of course, but I am not used to the idea of absorbing caffeine through my skin, it sounds kind of creepy.
