Okay, that's definitely the first time he's been compared to SIrirus Black- but I see what you mean, he could pass off as a Marauders era teenage Sirius (I now have the mental image of Sirius attempting to learn tennis, hating it, and complaining about the redundant nature of Muggle sports)

Actually, if anyone asks me what made me even bother watching the new series I'd answer with "Ryoma and Kenya doing a ballet-karate hybrid dance to avoid lasers in order to infiltrate a bar and filch some sake for their alcoholic, brainwashing coach." Maybe Konomi has read way too much fanfiction of Tezuka sacrificing himself for Ryoma/ Seigaku and that's his way of trolling the fangirls. I don't know. It sucks that Tezuka left, but I'm not going to call him a wanker for it. I mean, he deserves to focus on himself too. Still, I can't help feeling that whole leaving thing undermined the entire premise of the original series. But that's just me. I refuse to think too much on this.

I am such a sucker for nostalgia. Even though I have checked out the manga version and wasn't overly enthralled I couldn't resist the new anime just because it's you know PoT.

Trolling is one thing. If he was likely to bring Tezuka back. Couldn't Mizuki have secretly have been a girl all along or or something less breaking? I completely agree that Tezuka should be able to focus on himself, but that could involve him playing tennis just for himself and acing all of the U17s before they send him off to Germany (seriously why so far?). I can't resist thinking about it because of that darn nostalgia hook.

...I had not seen that. It is ridiculous the similarities. Same production values somwhere along the line?
