Hotlinking.......

Because we have problems with people who use Fotolog hotlinking our files all the time, I'm making this post to let them know IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE

maybe try reputting the password on your zip files, because i noticed you stoped doing that. maybe itll stop so many people from band width stealing

Yeah, I stopped doing passwords, and I know that wouldn't stop it, because people would just go ahead and post the password with their hotlinked files. It was pathetic.

The only solution I think, is using sendspace or Megaupload since people aren't going to stop hotlinking. At least when they do now, my bandwidth wont suffer...

ahh, thats even more of a "slap in the face" if they post your passwords, because that means they obviously know it would piss you off XD;

yeah but that'd be kinda to bad since you wont be using the bandwidth you pay for every month, or do you have anouther website that uses your bandwidth too?

It was, since we posted our passwords under all the rules (this was back when we had downloads on Lacrima and not on lj) and when confronted, they always claimed they didn't know what hotlinking is. *rolls eyes*

Well, we will still have Lacrima hosted and all our images, so bandwidth is still being used, just not for downloading, if I do decide to go through with sendspace or Megaupload only. ^^

It's bad, yes. and I would never allow anyone to post my files that have been uploaded to my host. They are stealing...

I'm not going to let this spoil my holiday spirite, but it needed to be addressed, so it has been. and thanks for your well wishes ^^

Sorry to hear that! I can't believe the nerve of some people. Maybe sendspace, megaupload, or mediafire would be a better way to go.

I'm thinking sendspace or megaupload. I've not tried mediafire though...

the only reason I mention mediafire is that it allows you to dl multiples at a time and it never expires (so it says). No ads, no pop ups, and it's always pretty fast.

Anyways, sorry if you get tons of email comments from me today. I wanted to go through and copy down the links I wanted and comment at the same time (before I space out and forget to do so).

Well, for now, I'm sticking with my own host. the links were taken down, so all is good, I guess...(or, at least until I check over the stats page tomorrow)

Ah, not a problem! We like comments, and I thank you for being nice enough to do so! Glad you were finding things you wanted to download, and enjoy them all.

I'm totally with you iced... you realize a HUGE work with upload and share your stuff with US, also you have fast-goods-working links to everyone, for that I think Stolen your links (in your host) is a INFAMY

If you not annoys I will leave a comment to this fotolog in spanish (they speak spanish) becouse I don't know if they will understand your msg =P!
