I'M SORRY I'M LAZY screamsup September 5 2011, 02:18:12 UTC
[Sean's been pretty lazy for the past few days, but he's finally getting out of the mansion. It gets boring after a while. He's munching on a bag of chips as he walks, eying stores for several seconds before sauntering down the street. When his eyes lock on the familiar figure, Raven, he wanders over to her.]

Hey, Raven.

[Despite her inner emotional struggle, the cute blonde manages to smile as the boy approaches.]

Sean. Hey. Nice to see you out for once.

[He tilts his head, watching her. Hm. He's no good with girls, but he can tell something's up. Especially since Erik left.]

What? You expect me to stay inside forever?

Well, I was really beginning to wonder... [She is teasing, of course. Sorta. Don't worry, she likes you.]

She wasn't the only being in disguise out and about on the streets right now; Knock Out still prefers to crawl the streets in his alt mode, despite having comprised his local camouflage over the PORTAL network at least once. After all, just because some people knew he was a giant robot didn't mean he wanted to walk around as one all the time.

So he cruised, a sleek sports car with a striking red paintjob...that was still a bit marred from his sparring match with Ichigo. He might have been able to dream up wax and polish for himself, but apparently the special blends he liked to use still had to be mixed manually.

Which was why, if Raven was the type to notice cars, she might notice that this one seemed to be examining itself in the reflective front windows of a store, jerking forward and back incrementally on his wheels as he fretted over the scuffs and mars in his finish.

"Whoah."

And really, what else can Raven be expected to say when she came into contact with not only an absolutely gorgeous car, but one that apparently seemed to move all by itself? Was this just another quirk of the already very strange dream world they were in? Or was this something else completely?

With a bit of caution, but certainly more curiosity than anything else, the blonde approached said car from a distance, watching it. Just to make sure she wasn't seeing things.

At first, Knock Out was far too distracted but his examination to notice he was being observed. His engine grumbled his unhappiness at the state of his appearance; for a mech used to being utterly sleek and perfectly groomed, having any dents and dings and dull patches was a travesty.

To say that he was feeling a little self-conscious was an understatement.

So when he did finally realize there was a squishy in the vicinity and that it had been watching him, he did something a bit unprecedented. Engine grumbling, he turned himself three-quarters to the organic-- his most attractive angle in this alt-- and asked, "Like what you see?" His voice was deep, and perfectly clear despite the ambient noise of his engine.

If the question came out a little aggressive, well, he was feeling a little vulnerable.

Yep, that car was actually moving around on its own and somehow speaking to her. This encounter was now officially the strangest thing Raven has come across since her arrival into the dream city only a month earlier.

Smiling, because it was always important to be polite (especially to things she doesn't completely understand), the blonde gave a small nod of her head before taking another delicate step forward. Marred or not, Raven couldn't deny that he was the most strikingly beautiful car she had ever seen.

"Yeah, I really think I do."

[Akito has been out and about, exploring since he woke up that morning. He has never been on the grounds of the mansion before, and doesn't plan to go on them uninvited; he's happy enough just walking by. The places of solace are all so different, and it's neat to just see them in passing.

He notices the blonde after a moment, and something rings familiar about her. The only blonde he's met here so far has been Rapunzel, as far as he recalls, and so he wonders if maybe it's someone from home. Not Sumeragi, since this girl is too tall for that - Akito would barely reach her elbows - and not Ine. He runs through a short list of anyone else it could be and comes up with nothing.]

[Thankfully for Akito, Raven spies him from the distance and recognizes the familiar face with ease. She waves politely, beckoning him over.

Even if she may not be in the best of moods for socialization, the distraction may be just what she needs.]

[Akito pauses, realizing that he really doesn't recognize her despite the vague feeling of familiarity, and so when she waves him over he can't help being somewhat confused. He heads over though, wishing he was wearing his A-T just in case.]

Ah... Hi.

[Raven's head tilts to the side cutely as the boy approaches, eyebrows raising. She hasn't quite realized that she isn't in the right form yet.]

Don't you remember me? Raven.

Charles, like Raven, finally managed to bring himself out of the mansion in short bouts. Most of his time since Erik left had been devoted to actually setting himself right. As best as he could, at least. He was eating more now, as well as trying to be more open with Alex and Sean, as difficult as it was. He still didn't sleep very well, but the nightmares about the day in Cuba were not going to go away for sometime, he felt. Only time would tell.

He had situated himself to sit out in the yard, against one of the trees. His wheelchair was beside him, an ever faithful companion, but he hated sitting in it all the time. His head was leaned back against the tree, eyes closed, with the PORTAL in his lap. It was a bit of a cat nap, though the sound of Raven's thoughts stirred him from it. Charles raised his head and looked down the small gravel pathway, expecting to find the blue skinned woman and found her fair skin and blond haired disguise instead.

Saying he was surprised was a bit of an understatement.

Well, now wasn't that a surprise. It looked like today was a good day for everyone to finally emerge from their depressing dens.

Raven's thoughts were obviously in a troubled whirl at the present moment given just who was on her mind, but the young woman still managed a small smile before approaching her brother. "Mind if I join you? It looks nice under there."

"Not at all, Raven. You don't even need to ask." Charles replied with a raised eyebrow.

He put his hands on the ground and shifted himself over. His legs dragged a little, but, there wasn't much he could do about that. Despite it, he offered her a smile and gave a pat to the grass beside him.

Raven plopped gracelessly onto the grass beside him, scooting over to press her slim shoulder against his, shooting a sly smile over at the same time. As great of distractions as everyone else was in this city, especially all of the new friends she had made, Charles would always bring a much better sense of peace to the girl than anyone else ever could. When he was around and in a good mood, all her worries could disappear and be put at ease while they were in conversation or just plain having fun.

"Good." She bumped against his side gently in a playful way. "I like to think of the Mansion like it is partially mine after all of my years here, so I will just include all of the lawn in that ownership too."

[Alex has just gotten back from his daily run (and yes, he is wearing his mask), when he happens upon a familiar figure, immediately causing him to frown.]

Back to this look, huh?

Not surprised.

[It sounds condescending. Because it is. Alex never had a problem with either form she chose--but he just didn't get why it had to be so influenced by someone. Instead of coming from inside.]

[Raven is just a lot more delicate than you are, Alex. Throwing her into solitary would produce an extremely different outcome in the end.

Though her head perks up at Alex's approach, her own frown comes quickly at his words.]

Not all of us could be born looking normal.

[Alex snorted.]

Yeah well newsflash, Raven. None of us are normal.

[He crosses his arms over his chest. He can't stand how she acts like being naturally blue some horrible burden. Her mutation doesn't kill loved ones. It just makes her look like a smurf.]

[Yeah, he's true, more or less.]

I just didn't need the attention today, okay? I didn't want to be bothered by the usual questions that come with it.
