There wasn't a better way to learn your way around a new place than to get lost in it. While the latter hadn't really been Carmen's goal when she set out, it had happened, and she was trying to find her way back to House 12.

Unfortunately, all of the buildings were beginning to blend together and look the same. Her mask was beginning to get ridiculously stifling as well. The day had started off so pleasantly too.

Then she caught sight of a rather...interesting looking person on the same street she was. Trying to get some directions couldn't hurt, right?

"Hello there!" She called and waved, trying to get Nepeta's attention.

Nepeta had been lost in mapping out the city in her mind, so the sudden voice startled her briefly. Looking up sharply, unable to help being on the defensive, she gave the masked human who was waving at her a scrutiising look before moving closer.

When she spoke, her tone was wary but still friendly. "Hi! Um...have we spoken before?"

She didn't think she had. But since most of her communication thus far had been via text, she couldn't know for sure without asking.

Carmen smiled, not thinking that Nepeta wouldn't be able to see it. The tone didn't really surprise her. A stranger calling out to you out of nowhere in a strange city with a penchant for kidnapping seemed like plenty of reason to be on your guard.

She lowered her hand. "No, I don't think we have. I just got here a few days ago. I'm just a little lost. I was wondering if you knew which way it was to House 12 from here?"

Nepeta nodded, her wariness melting away under the excitement that she had potentially run into one of her housemates.

"Oh! Yes, I do. I've only been here a few days myself but I've just come from there!" With a pause, she added, "Do you live there too?"

As per usual the young dark elf was out and about the streets of Promenade, actually heading more toward the beach in hopes of getting in contact with Veles, as she hadn't really had much time to visit him recently. However, she did make a small detour around the houses, just for the sake of seeing if there was anyone around that she might have known, and if she was lucky then maybe they would want to come with her on her own little adventure.

With her own mask in place, she continued along her way, only stopping when she spotted the troll that she remembered speaking with a few days prior. After checking to make sure no guards were around, she lifted her mask up just the tiniest bit and waved with her other hand.

Nepeta had been taking a moment to take in the masks of the people around her, so she had already been looking in Lioriley's direction - the horns had caught her attention and she couldn't help but admire the mask.

When she realised that the figure was one of the people she'd spoken to when she'd first arrived, she bounded over, grinning and barely able to remain still for excitement.

"Hi! Lioriley, right?"

Lior set her mask back down for the moment, glad that she didn't have to call out to the girl after waving. "Hello again-- Yes, I'm Lioriley. And you're Nepeta, right? It's good to see you again. How have you been?" she grinned right back. If she had known the girl a little longer, she would have hugged her already, but that could wait for the moment.

"Have you been adjusting to the city well? It's kind of weird at first, but aside from the TENEKA thing it's not that bad."

Nepeta nodded in response. "Yes, that's me. I've been good, thank you for asking. How about you?" She, likewise, was holding back on hugging those she didn't know so well for now, largely because she didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable.

Smiling as Lioriley asked how she was adjusting, she replied, "I think I'm getting used to it. Of course, it helps that Equius is here too."
