Chapters are finally getting longer like I said they would. Things are also picking up more. xD
Previous Chapter “So…” Daehyun started.
All six of them were gathered in the dorm, the living room specifically, watching something or another on TV. Junhong was lying on his stomach on the floor, finishing up homework that none of his hyungs would let him get out of. Himchan was reclined leisurely over the arm chair, one leg thrown over it as he text only God knows who. The eldest of the six was sitting near the maknae on the floor, not caring that the younger man’s foot continuously hitting his leg in a repetitive motion that would have annoyed even the most patient of men. Jongup had a single headphone in while he played games on his phone, having finished his homework, thankfully, and was only partially paying attention to what Youngjae was watching on TV. It was the news and Youngjae found it all very interesting, liking to keep up with the world if they had time to just sit like they were doing at that moment.
When Daehyun spoke, all six of them looked over to the man who had otherwise been sitting silently while watching TV with Youngjae. None of them spoke as they had no idea what Daehyun was trying to say or allude to.
Silence persisted for two whole minutes before Junhong sat up, ending up practically in the leader’s lap and not bothering to move while he waited for his hyung to speak.
“I have a girlfriend.”
There was silence once more. It was a collective silence as all took in this information with a bit of confusion and uncertainty. It wasn’t often that they would say that they had a girlfriend because it wasn’t something an idol messed around with-being popular or not; netizens could be cruel.
Emotions ranged from excited to confused to-…something that Youngjae didn’t want to identify-among the members. Himchan cheered, sitting up straighter and looking over to the younger man with wide and eager eyes. He was always too nosy. Yongguk’s eyes widened as well, but he didn’t say anything as of yet; though, he did pull the maknae into his lap so they both could be more comfortable rather than his knee digging into the poor kid’s spine. Jongup pulled the earbud from his ear and sat up a bit straighter. Youngjae just felt sick.
“Remember that girl I meant when we went out drinking?” Himchan nodded excitedly. “Heehyoung is her name…we met up a couple times for coffee and such and we just made it official over the weekend.”
“Dude, that’s awesome! Have you-“ Himchan had begun but Daehyun cut him off immediately.
“If you ask me if I’ve had sex with her, I’m punching you in the face.” Daehyun threatened with an irritated huff.
“When are you bringing her over to meet us, hyung?” The maknae asked with his voice that was still developing, a soft crack in his sentence causing him to flush but the leader only held him tighter and gave a soft chuckle of amusement, a deep sound that they all were familiar with and it always made them happy to hear. The maknae may have blushed a bit more for a reason that would have had Youngjae wondering, but at that moment, he was sick and yet couldn’t even leave the room.
“I was thinking tomorrow since it’s our day off and I wanted to spend it with her anyways.”
“Youngjae can cook!” Himchan supplied and offered for the man who usually did most of the cooking for Daehyun anyways.
Daehyun looked to his best friend, wondering if he should have maybe spoken to him about this first given the pale look that had appeared on his friend’s face and he honestly could not figure out why he would suddenly appear so ill.
“Youngjae, are you okay?” The lead vocalist asked his best friend, forgoing the topic at hand for the time being. The other four looked over to the man in question with just as much concern.
“I think I’m coming down with something.” Youngjae explained as he placed his hand on his stomach. He rose from the couch and rushed from the living room to head straight to the bathroom where he knelt before the toilet and lost the contents of his stomach in a great heaving motion that brought tears to his eyes-though those tears were hardly just from the heaving itself.
Daehyun had been the first one up out of the room after Youngjae, the rest scrambling to follow. All but Daehyun stood outside the bathroom looking in and watching almost perversely the way Youngjae was bent over the toilet to throw up. He had dropped next to his friend without a moment’s hesitation, without needing to be asked as there was no way in hell that he could stand silently and just watch.
“God, that’s gross.” Himchan said, placing a hand to his mouth as the smell of the puke was ripe. Yongguk glared at his best friend and promptly shoved him away from the bathroom, not noticing how the maknae opened his mouth to protest the use of violence but closed it moments later. Jongup simply shook his head at his friend, moving from the hallway and grabbing Himchan’s arm to drag him towards the maknaes room.
Daehyun had one arm wrapped around Youngjae’s waist and his other hand was gently brushing through the shaved side of the man’s head, fingers just barely scratching along his scalp in what he hoped was a soothing motion. Youngjae did take comfort from it, but he also wanted it to stop-which was a conflicting desire and he didn’t know what to tell Daehyun; he didn’t say anything even if he could.
“Maknae…let’s go.” Yongguk spoke softly, taking Junhong’s hand and bringing him from the bathroom as there was no reason to continue to watch as Daehyun had a handle on this
He didn’t stop throwing up until all contents of his stomach were disposed of and by that time, he’s hiccupping and nearly sobbing, his body still dry-heaving even though there was no more to be lost. After that, he collapsed back against his best friend and let out a soft whimper of need. It was so terrible to be throwing up that much, to be doing fine one moment and then the next to no longer have a handle on even the food he had eaten earlier that day.
With one last dry-heave, Youngjae was nearly limp against his best friend who continued to hold him close to him. Daehyun reached forward to flush the toilet, disposing of the smell.
“I’ll tell Heehyoung to come over another time, precious boy…let’s get you to bed and I’ll feed you soup.” Daehyun was easily forgetting about plans with his new girlfriend because his best friend mattered far more than a woman-even one as gorgeous as this one who he could possibly lose his virginity to in the near future.
“I’m not moving…” Youngjae groaned out, his hand on his stomach and the other clenching Daehyun’s shirt. “My mouth tastes icky.” He complained-he was always the best at complaining. Though, Daehyun would never say that out loud for fear of being hit-which was something that happened far too often.
Daehyun glanced to his friend’s smaller frame and decided what he’d do right then and there. It took a bit of effort to slide himself from under the man who was not cooperating in the slightest and just a bit more effort than that to lift the smaller man up into his arms. Working out seemed to benefit him in this way at least and it looked like Youngjae approved.
Carrying the younger man in the easiest way possible, he walked to their shared bedroom, garnering the attention of the maknae and leader who left the living room to check on their sick friend.
“Do you need something, hyungie?” The maknae asked as he stood outside the bedroom. Neither the youngest nor the eldest thought anything of Daehyun laying Youngjae down tenderly in the elder’s bed, figuring that it was because it was the closest to the door and they figured that Daehyun was struggling with carrying him.
Youngjae was about to open his mouth but Daehyun beat him to it. “I got it. Thanks, maknae.” Junhong nodded and took Yongguk’s hand to lead him back to the living room.
“I want water.” Youngjae whined as he rolled onto his side, taking in the scent of his best friend’s bed and actually taking comfort from it.
“I’ll get you some. Just rest, okay, precious boy?” Daehyun spoke softly before he walked from the room to fetch Youngjae some water. By the time that he made it back, Youngjae had already fallen asleep. He would wake to a glass of water by the bedside and Daehyun behind him, an arm around his form to hold him close, a position that they both were finding that they liked maybe a bit too much. Yet, if consciousness did take hold of him some time in the night, he would simply press back against his best friend and feign sleep, not wanting to wake until he had no other choice.
