One more reason to love credit cards

Dec 22, 2011 04:04

I received a letter from my credit card company. Apparently I have been earning reward points for almost five years and I didn't even realize it. I have 13,000 points total (wow), with about 2000 that will expire soon. I looked at the rewards, and I'm currently debating between Mario Kart Wii (which I've wanted to buy for years, but the price never ( Read more... )

I haven't yet played the TCG online, but I've been meaning to. :) I'd go with Mario Kart since that rarely drops in price. Docks go on sale all the time!

It's fun. Not as fun as playing in person, obviously, but it's a nice alternative if you don't have anyone to play against you in person.

They do? I wasn't aware of that. The cheapest one I've found on Amazon was around $70.

Well, they do here. I'm not sure about over there. And it's probably the cheap brands, anyway. I'd go with whatever gives you the best value for points, I guess!

Which credit card do you use, if you do not mind me asking?! I love Mario Kart for the Wii!! Rodney got it for me as a Christmas gift, I think two years ago now?! What brands of speaker docks are they offering you?!

I have a Visa. My card has no annual fees, which is nice. It is also the most gorgeous shade of blue with inlaid sparkles and has a picture of an airplane on it. Not that the design matters, but I give it props for being pretty. I pay mine off every month, so it's basically like a more convenient form of cash. I'm not sure if that factors into the rewards program or not.

The bad news is that, because I was a student when I got it, it has an $800 limit per month. I only hit the limit once while I was in school, but that's going to change soon. I need to look into either raising my limit or getting a new card soon.

One of them is SoundSpa, and the others don't say.

Who is your Visa through?! Like, I have a Mastercard but it is through CitiBank. I know now some card companies let you use your own photo for the card design! I rarely carry cash anymore myself, instead I use my debit card and luckily I am not charged and crazy fees...:3

Most of my card limits are about $2,000 for my credit is really good! I wish you luck when you request a limit increase...;)

Hum, the reviews for SoundSpa do not seem to be the best...but I am also finding 3 different docks!

Oh, that. It's through Tinker Federal Credit Union.

I've heard of being able to use your own design, but I'm not sure if it costs extra or not. (Besides, I like my current design better than anything I could come up with.)

Yeah, I'll probably go with Mario Kart, since at least I know what I'm getting.

I say go with Mario Kart. You've wanted it for a while and like you said, you know what you're getting.

The iPod dock thing would be nice, but they are always coming out with new models so you may find another one you like or hopefully your card company will offer a newer one for you to use your other points on. :D

I've wanted the iPod dock for years too, but it's always been out of my price range. Unfortunately, a lot of the ones on this site don't have the brand listed, which is worrisome.

Indeed. This is the best dilemma I've faced in a while.

Mario Kart Wii is a lot of fun to watch, so I imagine it's even more fun to play! (A. borrowed it from eir sister for awhile. Ey now has it, and there will be playing for the others on Christmas.)

Out of curiosity, does the third-gen Nano charge with a cord like the Classic, or is it like the Shuffle (which charges through the headphone port)?

I'm not a huge fan of Mario Kart games in general, but Mario Kart Wii is really fun. I decided to go ahead and get it since I have no idea about the quality of the iPod docks.

The 3rd gen nano charges with a cord. (I assume it's like the classic's cord, but I don't have a classic yet.)

If it's the same kind, then they would charge on the same dock (in case you ever want to get one). I like the idea of an FM tuner, but I'm wary of quality, too.
