typical indigenous food

On Saturday we stayed in a indigenous village about half an hour from Rosita. they celebrated Thanksgiving and we could spend the night there. it was really beautiful. i have been to indigenous villages here before and i like that they are all build along rivers. for them the rivers are natural roads. therefore there is no need to build roads ( Read more... )

wow, very different foods. they seem bland? how nice they let you stay with them. living by a river seems lovely. :)

well, those people have always lived very much with nature and never "worked" the soil, meaning they have always eaten what nature has given them. so they naturally eat a lot of bananas and plantains, yuca, etc. everything that just grows naturally.... so their food variety is rather small on a daily base.

they were also very surprised that we were just visiting, since they automatically assume every white person wants to do a project or brings money, you know.

i know. it was very interesting to stay with them. i loved it there. i am going to post more photos. did you see the granada pix i posted, i think you might like them as well.
