My mother characterizes me as an extreme person, like a pendulum swinging from one end to another. (She's right.)

Thank you so much for posting this, love :) I think that recognizing that I am happy alone was pushing me to feel guilty for wanting a relationship, which contributed a lot to what we were talking about Saturday night. I love this distinction between a healthy, fulfilling relationship that makes two people better individuals rather than an unhealthy, codependent relationship.
