Computer troubleshooting help?

Exam is over. I did ok I think, fucket up on some stuff but that's ok, I didn't really know how to do it anyways:p Got most of it I think. Wrote 11 pages and I was the last one to leave. You should have 7 hours for math, 5 is too little ( Read more... )

Unless if I'm wrong... given that I read for your cpu box "954 chipset only"... you will probably have to return the 865 chipset motherboard and exchange it for a 954 chipset motherboard.

Otherwise, as you have encountered, the motherboard and the cpu will have problems fitting properly.

It is possible, because the cpu isn't fitting properly in the motherboard, some of the pins aren't connecting properly which results in your computer not running. So next time when you buy - get hardware from a reputable supplier who knows what they're talking about or make sure you do your research. :)

That annoys me because at the motherboard site it has a list of all the cpus my m.b. supports, and my processor is on the list. They have to make up their minds:p

Simply put, computers are hell.

A few years ago, all my friends were playing PC games. I wanted in on it SO bad, I even bought one of the games, only to realize my computer, while not exactly a FOSSIL, had a prehistoric graphics chip that wouldn't play anything more complex than Barbie's Fashion Salon. They had even welded the slot for putting a new graphics card in shut at the factory! :(
