I have never stopped being friends with someone over political ideology, but at the same time, I don't think I could be friends with someone who is opposed to same sex marriage, because then we aren't just talking about a political issue, we're talking about a bunch of people not having the same rights as others. Hate it. Why do you need a particular day to show you love and respect someone. You should always enjoy being with who you're with, and you shouldnt need to be pressured to spend money to show it on one particular day of the year.
Besides..isn't Valentines Day just another Hallmark Holiday?
