Could you explain what means "chases in Arras, dreams in a career"?
You.com "Chases in Arras, dreams in a career" is a phrase from the novella "The Great God Pan" by Welsh author Arthur Machen. The exact meaning and context of the phrase is not entirely clear, but it is often interpreted as a metaphor for the pursuit of knowledge and ambition that leads one further and further into the unknown, perhaps even into realms that are beyond the reach of human understanding. The phrase suggests an endless pursuit of something that is ultimately unattainable, and a sense of fascination and danger that goes beyond the limits of ordinary experience. It is a beautifully evocative phrase that captures the mood and themes of Machen's work and continues to resonate with readers today.
