Two Questions, really... agentgrrl July 6 2011, 18:16:46 UTC
One, is the game actually open? I...didn't see any messages around stating one way or another...

Two, is there a legal system present in Koan City? If not, if I were to bring in a character who would prefer one being present, would it be possible for him to attempt to bring order to the place?

The game IS opened. We haven't started an official event, but there is already a log between two characters in the log community (You have to join to see it, but it is there) and you're welcome to start a log or make a journal the moment your application is accepted ( ... )

Quick question: If we were to suggest future events and experiments, would we post them in the Bank entry? Or would we have to post those elsewhere?

A few questions and please forgive me if their answers should be obvious... Although I've lurked & observed some LJ-based RPs before, I've never actually participated in one and don't want to get things wrong ( ... )

1. We do allow powers, and you're welcome to use them however your character realistically would. The problem occurs when a character is, well... Let's say you're roleplaying the Hulk and he smashes some random building downtown to pieces. That's no problem, the Overseers can "fix it up". But let's say Hulk smashes the apartment building, therefor leaving all the characters there without a home. You see the difference? As long as the powers are not ruining things for other characters, it's completely allowed. Or what if you're roleplaying a character that has mind control power. Using this occasionally with the other player's consent is okay, but if you're just going around trying to mind control everyone in every log, then you're going overboard. Do you see what I mean? It's just a matter of being respectful and keeping the game fun ( ... )

Hey, it's no trouble! I'm glad you're thinking so hard about it :)

Honestly, if the world is close enough to our own, I suppose I can understand what you're saying. Supernatural is a really good example because the world is so full of cultural references to our own world. That really sways my opinion on the matter. I supposed if it does come up in the game, you can make personal decisions on whether to address it or not. It would be more out-of-character for Sam and Dean NOT to freak out about a living, breathing, real-life Cheetara!

If your argument was being graded, I'd give you an A+ :D

Regarding events, particularly mandatory ones... the announcement made by the Overseers -- how much of that (if any) is actually broadcast to the characters themselves? And if some is, is it by text?

Thanks!

All of the events that are posted in koancity-main are text journals from the Overseers themselves. They are in-character and available for all characters to see (although if a character doesn't use their KCD ~ we have several who choose not to ~ they may not have any idea what's going on). They're the same as if any other character posted a journal.

However, stuff typed out of character, in the ooc page, is just stuff from the mods to you guys. That stuff the character would have no idea of.

To make this very easy, generally stuff posted by US the characters cannot see. Stuff posted by The Overseers are available for all to see on the KCD network.

Sorry it took a while to get back to you on this; we were on hiatus for a while. I hope this helps you.
