Poll: Pic Spam Position

Feb 17, 2007 08:56

I have quite a lot of pic spams in my journal. My journal is mostly text but I do like pretty images as well. In my pic spam for Bones: episode 215 The Man in the Mansion, ambergold made the following valid observation:

I would have to put in a good word for fewer/less picspams in your posts, koala-I keep wanting to respond to them and then clicking on ( Read more... )

Don't change a thing! I love your picspams - with or without comments. Your comments are wonderful, though. I personally (as you know) love text that is illustrated with lots images. I'm biased, of course. I'm the person who posted a six part 496 image picspam of the final episode of Sapuri. :D

That is still one of my favourite icons of yours. I was originally tempted to steal it but decided I couldn't because I associate it with you and it wouldn't have felt right to use it.

As to pic spams, my problem is that the images and the text are linked together in my mind inextricably. The images generate comments and vice versa and I find it hard to separate the two. I just thought I'd better double check just in case I was being vastly insensitive notwithstanding the lj-cuts, but I think I'm pretty safe to continue as I am. If people really don't want to see the images, I figure they can hit stop before the images load.

I love your picspams, both the pictures and the snarky text. You really do come up with some wonderful screen caps. :)

Bahahahhaa I love that suite of chat icons so much. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was giggling over Michael's propensity to put everything in code ;)

I'm flattered that you actually took my small thought into consideration:) My problem is mostly just the sheer number of images-6 or so is fine but beyond that, I find that I have to pause after each roll of the mouse to wait for the images to load/fix themselves and end up not getting anywhere. However, I quite understand the gratification it gives you and it is, after all, your journal. :) (I would love your picspams if only-well I suppose it really does come down to if I had a faster connection, which probably many other people on your f-list do-the images are always so cute and well-chosen) Ah well.

Of course I take your thoughts into account. It's true that my connection is very speedy right now but when I've been on dial up now and then I have cursed my pic spams :D The problem is juggling my need for eye candy with text. That being said, perhaps less is more. I'm going to have to ponder this further. In any case, the point is currently moot until the 18th given that I appear to have had my photobucket account maxed out in terms of bandwidth. *cries*

You know (or not ;]) that when I first came over to your journal it was primarily for the picspams, so my vote will always be "MORE picspams", however you decide to do them - even though I like them just as they are :)

Happy New Year :)

Thank you for that! :D I thought I'd try to be democratic about this one even though I'm ordinarily an Evil Koala Overlord when it comes to my journal ;)

I don't think your pic spams should ever change!!!!!, but I voted "other" because you wanted my opinion.

For myself, I find it difficult to concentrate on picspam with too many images (text/image ration doesn't matter for me at all). Download speed is not a problem for me, it is just a size of it, I get lost and look at the first/last pictures or something like that!!! (and it is "just me", I have a tiny brain!). But I don’t think you should change, this is your journal and you should do what makes you happy!

Thank you so much. I will ponder! :D The feedback on the issue has been very thought-provoking.
