Pancake angst / Mini pancake pic spam
iynx was talking today about blueberry pancakes. Much as I adore crepes, there's something about pancakes that I love. Part of it's the aesthetic - I just adore the sight of a stack of pancakes.
This leads me to a problem of mine (umm one of many :). To be honest, I can rarely eat more than 2 pancakes. Sometimes I can only eat one, but I adore the sight of a pancake stack so much that I will frequently order a pancake stack and then be unable to finish it. It's quite a waste. :P
In honour of my pancake angst, here be pancake pic spam.
There's just something gorgeous about thick pancakes in a stack. I have a love/hate relationship with maple syrup. I like it, but then I think about how it's tree blood and feel mildly grossed out. Still, I'd rather eat maple syrup than maple flavoured syrup. It's like that abomination known as Chocolate Flavoured Syrup or Chocolate Flavoured sauce. I mean what's wrong with plain old chocolate syrup or chocolate sauce?
Then there's the humble Aussie pikelet. Google Images wasn't very forthcoming with pikelet images, so I found only four good ones :)
Whereas pancakes are nice hot, I like pikelets chilled with butter and strawberry jam. Mmm. Or pikelets with butter is also good.
I still haven't found a place in Beijing that serves good pancakes. *ponders* I might make pikelets myself this weekend though :D
