Connor half-heartedly ate his breakfast as his mind conjured up all the things Philip might do... even if he had to admit to himself that some were rather far-fetched. He jumped and cried out when strong arms wrapped around him, hearing James' sigh at his reaction before soft kisses were pressed against his nape.

“Don't worry, Connor. Philip will wake up one morning and realise far too late that he's made a fatal mistake.”

Connor was enjoying the attention, especially when James' hand started drifting south, when James' words had him spin around, “Fatal?”

James just smiled and kissed him.
