When Connor emerged for the day, he found James sipping his coffee and reading an official looking file. “What's that?”
“Civil Service regulations on fraternisation.”
“The what?” Connor blinked, it all sounded far too bureaucratic for him.
“I'm checking we're following the proper procedures for relationships between co-workers, specifically, between a manager and one of his subordinates.”
“Oh,” Connor frowned as he realised what James meant. “You really think Philip would be that petty?” At James' quirked eyebrow, Connor sighed and nodded. Philip had already proven he'd do anything to get what he wanted, including drugging him and kidnapping James.
