I so totally did the happy dance in my kitchen yesterday when I finished my sweater. I finished it with just a wee bit of time to spare. I laid it down and voila! it looked like a real sweater ( Read more... )

I'm not done. YET. (The desire for sleep wasn't impressed by the medal incentive.) However, I'm determined to press on until I have completed my task. Who's with me?

And here it is! My gold medal performance! It looks a little funky on her because I purposely made it about two sizes too big. She's growing like nobody's business right now and I wanted to make sure she could wear it next year to school too! She was giddy to wear it to school this morning!

Well my project was my first pair of socks and I decided that if I got at least one done I would give myself a mental silver medal. I did finish the first sock but it is so mistake ridden that I am going to drop that down to a bronze. How odd were some of the goings on during the closing ceremonies? 400 brides milling around? Ricky Martin lip-syncing his way through his turn? So bizarre sometimes, but I still watched the full two and a half hours while stiching on the buttons.

I have to set in the sleeves, knit the i-cord and sew on the cord dangly leaf things. Though I didn't think I was going to get this far so all is good. I think if I hadn't had to have frogged the front shaping/accordian part a couple of times before I got it just so I would be done but no biggy ( Read more... )

I did not get the gold, not even the silver, and not even a bronze (we'll forget about how there are no other medals besides gold). I wanted it so badly. ( Here's where I was at 2pm today: )

I did not finish the blanket. Being able to finally bring my son home (he had been in the NICU from birth in Dec to last weekend) meant no more knitting time.
