Working in a game and unresolved psychological issues (maybe)

A group of IT people and librarians are attempting to make my job into a game. I find this absolutely hilarious. It's aimed at people like me, who are mind-numbingly, idioitically, in-your-face competitive to help boost statistics and things like fill rates, because my job is very much confined to my little department and my computer, and it's hard ( Read more... )

We tried to make ILL into a frisbee game one time - when I was a youngin' student, before I could actually CREATE anything awesome like an ILL frisbee match - but it didn't go over well. Perhaps I should try this again. If they wanted a boring micromanager, they shouldn't have hired ME.

I'm putting your ticket for the show on "Will Call" under your name. Is that okay? Also, if you and M can carpool to the building so you don't have to pay for parking that would be uber smart of you.

dude. We are like already so absolutely uber smart and awesome, and we are like, totally carpooling from Jo's house. (We just have to figure out dinner, which might be a tad interesting).

And thanks about the ticket--that'll be PERFECT.

A frisbee game? Plz to be explainin' how this be working.

Well, back in the day (ie, 2004), ILL was being all done on the paper, and we'd be having lots of piles and stacks of the paper everywhere for no good reason except for it to be doing ILL. So we were to be tossing the paper.

This is too hard. I can't do it. La dee da dee da.
