Started filling out applications for grad schools in the area today and GOMZ it's freaking me out. I have two standardized tests that I'm going to have to sit for sometime here soon, so that was depressing. A group of IT people and librarians are attempting to make my job into a game. I find this absolutely hilarious. It's aimed at people like me, who are mind-numbingly, idioitically, in-your-face competitive to help boost statistics and things like fill rates, because my job is very much confined to my little department and my computer, and it's hard ( Read more... )

I would hate to live in an igloo ... but I would enjoy the ice shavings everywhere.

It is this thought that has prompted all my actions today.
