You know, I gotta say that I never thought I'd get married. I was 5 years old, and I told my mom that I was never going to get married. If I did get married, it was going to be when I was older and had gone to college and had a career, and that I would never marry anyone in the military, and I'd never have kids ( ... )

I started planning my wedding when I was realllllly young before I understood what 'wedding' meant. I didn't understand how muc it cost or what a marriage actually was or what it entailed. When I didn't knwo any of that, I wanted a HUGE white dress... like a puffy one and I wanted like every single person I ever knew there. And I wanted it in a church. I don't think I ever thought much about weddings when I was younger, besides wanting to have my wedding a combination of the movie "Father of the Bride" and "My Best Friend's Wedding". Hah ( ... )

good point about the videographer. there are also disposable video recorders now (i read that somewhere) that you could give to a few friends and let them pick and choose what moments they thought were good, then edit that into something cute like the video from love actually. then you might like yourself on video - if you could pick and choose what to keep and throw out.

I do know some of the things I want for my own wedding. I know I want to get married in NBPT's Maudsley State Park, and that I want it to be mid August. I know I want lots of summer flowery colors like orange lillies, red tulips and peach roses, but I want my bridesmaids to be in either lavender or blue (who gives a fuck about color coordination? obviously not me).
